Thought the same when this rumour started circulating, but then given the way we play I think it's quite sensible to focus on eg forwards who've already demonstrated they know how to press.
Torres was really good for City and had an eye for goal there. Think it'd be a very smart move if we could get him for the right money.

He is good in front of goal and has the knack to be at the right place right time. Doesn't really play like a winger for me, more like a forward.
Barca wants to sell him after 1 season because they have Raphinha and Dembele now.
Dembele is the one I would've killed for last year. He's healthy now and just looks unplayable. He would kill it for Arteta.
But Torres is another good option. More of a sure thing than a Mudryk.

We were rumored to be in for him this past window. Put in a bid which Barcelona accepted, but they left the final decision to xavi , who said no. If that was the case, then what has changed?

If the player gets less playing time he might be looking to leave.
