He's so far beneath the level required to play for Juventus. Doesn't do anything to influence the game. Very Xhaka-like in that sense so I can see why we'd be interested, but that's a disaster signing waiting to happen. Even Danilo has done better in the middle for them.

Seems like an odd signing when both are players focused on finishing chances. Everything we've seen over the last few months - when we finally started winning and playing decent footy - suggests that our team needs a more well rounded CF.

Jovic is best played as a striker because of his unreal finishing ability (or at least potential) but he's much more of a natural footballer than Auba. No comparison between the two when it comes to linking up or holding it as a target player, he's not very tall and wouldn't win every hoof up but he's strong as an ox, as two footed as they come and can pick a pass

I'd take both Jovic and Haller from that Frankfurt team a few seasons back as a Laca replacement, although Jovic seems like the kind of guy who needs the full confidence of his manager to really excel and I'm not sure how he'd take to Arteta's personality. Would definitely be worth a punt to take him on loan, he could be absolutely brilliant if all goes well. I'd definitely want another striker though, maybe someone like Isak.

Other reports have Arteta no longer interested in Melo sias a result of the changed the midfield shape etc.

While getting Jovic on loan with a buy-option and buying Isak alongside him sounds really good. Is there a way that long-term they can both stay in the team without one being reduced to a bench player with limited gametime? If not, would any of them accept that role and even if they would is it worth the investment?

The Nunez link seems pretty plausible to me. Based on their Vlahovic pursuit I think Edu/Arteta are looking for a power player up top, and Arteta is probably banking on being able to polish him up technically.

And then a loan with a buy option makes sense to fill the second striker, whether Jovic or somebody else.

Also looks like we are interested in a wide player who can score as well as assist and play across the front 3.
Have seen about 3 or 4 names come up in the past week or so & more so than for any CMs at this point.

That said we are usually 'linked' to over 100 names every transfer window.

I got high standards in terms of who comes in this summer but would be happy with this. Hes an absolute baller.

We will face competition from Liverpool (he could be their Salah replacement), Barca and Bayern.
