Never been a fan of Maddison, bit of a streaky player.. Probably looks good on highlight reels. Seems like he is always injured as well. Would no doubt cost a bomb.

I feel about maddison how I feel about leciester in general. they run very hot for short bursts and pundits hype them up, then they quietly fade out at the business end of the season. the lower expectations means they duck the usual criticism/scrutiny, but if you're spending 60m on a player you'd want a bit more than that. I'd have rather spent half that on buendia, as I don't see a huge gap between him and maddison

I'm very doubtful when we see talk of players worth 50m+ after we bailed on Buendia at 30m.
For mind it smacks more about looking like we have some quality targets as opposed to actually doing anything about any of them.
That said I'd not be surprised if we supposedly make a big offer on a single player towards the end of the season, regardless of if it is successful or not = akin to the likes of Ozil, Lemar & Pepe. IMO the last 2 in particular are more about bluff and bullshit regarding us still being a big/important club in terms of both the EPL and UEFA in any other capacity other than being a member of the big6.

He didn’t make it past Bukayo and co to the national team, partially because of the issues you’ve raised. But he’s still dangerous and productive, with upside. I doubt he goes over £50m. He’s not elite yet, even with the English premium but there’s scope.

My bet is on MO, although knowing our lot it could just as easily be any of White, Isak, or bloody Zaha.

I'm a fan of Maddison but the injuries mean we should stay a million miles away. It's why he didn't made the Euros. Like someone said on that page:

The hip injury is becoming a huge concern for me and since project restart a year ago, he has only started 26 out of the 47 (55%) PL games

That's a useless ratio, doubly so for a marquee player. This could be just like signing Partey again except everyone could see it coming this time. We can't keep spending money on players in their mid-to-late 20s unless they start every game for us. That's the whole point of these signings.

Leicester by some accounts rejected a 70m bid last year. Why would we pursue him and not fork out Abit more for Buendia? Don't make sense tbh

To be fair he's played 46, 36, 31 and 31 league games respectively in the last four seasons, that's not too bad at all, at least by our standards.
