Firstly IF they are correct in their list then we need to change our style and patterns of play or next season is fucked with keeping either PEA or Lacazette, let alone both.
As for a CB the theory is that Arteta wants a mobile CB with pace so he can push up with a higher Defensive line, which will have a knock-on impact to our ability to play a high press and our transitions. Saliba fits the required profile, but a point was raised that Arteta may not feel a Gabriel-Saliba combo is experienced enough individually to hang his managerial career on over the start to the season, particularly if Saliba was one of the problem players last year = he was critical of Arteta in the media when he went on loan, much like Guendouzi.
