They’ve drawn 3 of their last 5 and are currently 2-1 down to West Brom. They play 5 top half sides in their last 8, we play 6 bottom half sides. Something very wrong if we don’t make some ground imo, whatever happens today.

I'm happy to have jinxed them but I still think we'll drop plenty of silly points too.

Get him in sell Bellerin.

Sell Torriera, Elneny, Guendouzi and Maitland-Niles to help fund a couple of fit for purpose midfielders.

Add a star in the attack perhaps funded by the sale of Laca or Auba or both.

Reintegrate Saliba and get a bastardly good right footed centeback

I still think Hakimi would be a mistake, not because he isn't a good player but because he isn't a fullback. It'll probably mean that Arteta reverts back to a three-man defence. I hope he's sacked before he has a chance to push this through.

We can't go back to a three man defence while signing a no.10

Regardless of the formation the pattern under Arteta is always to leave 5 men back to stop a break, so more likely it will mean that KT becomes the more reserved fullback but I suspect they'll just continue to interchange like they do now.

I'm all for it, make it happen.

Goon, I’m excited for this transfer. This guy is our answer to Cancelo.

To give you a sense of his versatility.

at inter he has played mainly as RWB in a 343
at Dortmund, the manager absolutely loved him. In the 4231 he played him mainly as RB and a couple of games as a LW. In the 343, he played as RWB.

I prefer to look at a player’s strengths. What is he good at? This is a multi-dimensional attacking fullback. He can run up and down the flank like Bellerin and he can also do interplay up the field like a Cancelo. He generates a ton of chances.
It’s a bit like looking at TAA and saying his defense is crap, so I don’t want him. That’s what folks who don’t want Hakimi are doing. They are giving up a chance to have a player who has dimension of true sparkle

RWB or RB, this guy is one of the best in the business. A must get if we have a chance for him

The difference between him and Cancelo is that Cancelo is equally good in a normal defence. You can't compare Hakimi to him. Cancelo is possibly the best in the world at what he does.

Unless we want our only attacking threat to come from overloading the flanks with the fullbacks (and this worries me because I do think that's Arteta's wet dream) we should stay way. He's not a fullback and not really a wingback either; he's basically a winger. Playing like that puts demands on the rest of the team.

That's what I think anyway, but who knows what our plans are for him or if we're even interested. I'll say this though: I will be impressed if anyone can get him to work out without a three-man defence and a designated defensive midfielder as cover.
