Worst thing about Lemar was he was available for under £55m earlier in the summer. But Arsenal being Arsenal decided to make a low offer and then wait. By the end of the window Monaco had over £300m worth of sales so why would they sell for cheap? They would only sell that late if a ridiculous offer came in and that is what we decided to do. Fucking ridiculous really, our transfers in the past 5 years have been work of amateurs. Always felt we were trying to be too clever for our own good waiting until the end and always wanting to sell our own players before signing anyone.
Not sure I believe these Lemar stories either, sounds like agents just using our name as usual to drum up some interest.
