Just play Laca, Auba and Pepe somewhere in the front 3, that's it. It'll get us a shit ton of goals and be difficult to defend against. Doesn't need to be that complicated.

Alternatively, and maybe away from home, play a 4-4-2 with Pepe and Iwobi wide and Laca/Auba up top, would be a killer on the counter attack.

Ceballos definitely, he'll be essential for playing a counter attacking game. The other would probably be Xhaka, I don't think Douzi or Torreira are that well suited to sitting in a deeper midfield.

Not great, but decent in depth. If new CB = Rugani, swap him and Holding.

You're selling him short.

And even if you weren't, being basic and limited would make him more suited to playing a midfield role. It's quite obvious where Emery wants his creativity to come from if he's playing Ramsey at CAM, and spending £72m or more, on wingers. And that's ignoring the fact we get overrun in midfield every other game, and that Lacazette is basically our only player willing to get stuck in and do the dirty work.

Within the context of this team, it's strengths and weaknesses, it's patterns of play with and without the ball, Lacazette at CAM is definitely worth trying.

Emery didn't really want Ramsey there either, but that's quite irrelevant any way - there's no comparison between the two.

Lacazette's passing is very average, he takes too many touches of the ball when it comes into feet, he doesn't have the capacity to make endless runs, his vision is limited, doesn't see more than one move ahead. Just a thoroughly average player really.

He's got good balance and has a decent shot on him. He's basically Giroud Mk.II and that's not something I would ever want to see given a creative licence.

You missed my point. Ramsey is relevant in that he's doesn't visibly have more of a "passing" game than Lacazette, yet no one really complained when Emery put him at CAM game after game. Especially as all those things you've listed as Lacazette's weaknesses could, and have, been applied to the Welshman.

Anyway that's if we even took what you said.

Lacazette's intelligence and technique were obvious from the beginning. So we're really not on the same page here.

And Emery quite obviously set the team up to prioritize getting the ball to the FW positions. So if the alternative is having him out wide, he may well end up with MORE creative license.
