To answer your question, Upamecano is young but turning into an ultimate defender in both directions. He’s great at reading the game, anticipating play and blocking out passes or getting to his man early. Great situational awareness (unlike some of our guys). On offense, he will be a gift to Leno. He’s great with the ball at feet and has an incredible passing range (styles and distance) and accuracy. Can dribble well as well. Would immediately calm our defense.

Who is considered the greater talent? I've only read about them, but I don't really know who you (Claudius) is talking about since he asked about both. With how big Konate is it'd be extremely abnormal if he had the traits you're describing, so I assume you're talking about Upamecano.

Upamecano is probably slightly ahead of Konate.
But don’t forget that the team also has Mukiele who is also excellent and slightly less fancied than them but still better than any of our defenders. Yesterday I mentioned that we should put in a bid for him instead.

Anyway, it's surely too late to nab Upamecano. Leipzig fancy their chances in the bundesliga, and selling their star man with little time to secure a replacement doesn't seem particularly ambitious.

Just seen that Upamecano has been stalling on signing a new contract all season, and is now inside his final two years. Come on Arsenal, get this done!

By the way, if we get to €70m for this guy, that’s fine. Put him on a 5 to 6 year contract and watch his value rise. We can probably get away with paying him £70k/week to start.
