I really don’t envy Raul given how much work there is to do this summer at Arsenal. We need to fill winger, central midfielder, central defender and left back at the very least in addition to shifting deadwood. But it would make his life easier if we could start counting points on the board. We have exactly a month now.

I think it's very unlikely that we'll fill more than two of those positions Claude - winger and fullback most likely. No midfielders. Saliba to stay at St Etienne for a year.

This is scary to b honest.

There is almost no point of next season if we go in with the same midfield and central defence.

Anyway, where there is anger, there is mood for radical action and change. A season like that will get the pitchforks out against Kroenke

If Sanllehi decides to spend £30m on an 18 year old centreback and then loans him back, £25m on a left back without selling Kolasinac to raise funds, and then spends £60m or £70m on Wilfired Zaha:

Do you think Kroenke is the man to blame for the central defence and midfield not being better than it was the season before?

Yep, I'm willing to bet good money that's how we're going to line up at the start of the season. Xhaka and Torreira in central midfield, with Guendouzi drifting in and out of the team.

Good point. At that point, you have to say we had money, and we prioritised what we thought was important.

It also sends a message that Emery is in it for longer than this season :angry:

It would be pretty incredible to sign Saliba, who comes next year, and we badly need defenders this season.

I had a mental image of DeVito and Pinky hiding in the bushes, furtively, waiting for a player and his entourage to pass by and then jumping out and grabbing one or two of the stragglers - his friends from elementary school maybe, and trying to talk them into convincing their boy to join us.

Only problem was I couldn’t see the face of this “their boy”, and I couldn’t even think of a player we’ve been linked to in the past few months that i’d actually want and be excited to have here.
