Spurs have had great fortune signing Ajax defenders/midfielders though.

Tadic is obvious quality, been the best player even against Madrid and Juventus. Southampton not using him well doesn't mean he is a flop

If the team keeps on a good trajectory, I believe in two years iwobi will be a completely different unrecognizable player to now. I feel like he has a lot more in his locker.

Tadić is 30. He was ok in the PL, blew hot and cold. He's a good player but not good enough to take on at 30 IMO.

Linked with a return for Ismail Bennacer. I didn't hear much about him when he played for our reserves. Was he highly rated back then or is he a late bloomer (if anyone has seen him this season in Serie A)?

I think we discussed him on a previous page of this thread, but Bennacer is a quality player. Very clever, complete type of midfielder who's been thriving in a tactical environment in Italy despite being very young. He was Napoli's first choice to replace Allan (who I think he's strikingly similar to) in January but the latter never completed his move to PSG.

Would he be more of a Ramsey replacement or a backup to Xhaka? Also linked to Gbamin - while I know he plays largely in midfield in the Bundesliga, I suspect we must be looking at him as a CB. Clearly has the physical attributes for the job, but does he read the game well?
