Anybody know any quality CBs we might go after? Would love us to splash out on a leader back there. I like that Diop af West Ham.
When Holding recovers, say it with me now: he’ll be like...
Sell Chambers and Mustafi, should be able to fetch £30-40m or so. That's enough to fund a top centre back and then let Sokratis, Koscielny and Holding fight it out for the second spot. Mavropanos can go out on loan.
No you specifically, but why does everyone seem to think we'll get good offers for mustafi?
Should easily get at least 15-20m for him. He's at a good age, presumably not earning a fortune with lots of top level experience. He was linked to Juve both in the summer and in Jan. Whether that's true or not, I reckon he'll have his fair share of suitors. Don't let Clrnc's West Brom/Pulis story fool you.
Obviously don’t know for certain but I think when he signed it was reported that Mustafi was getting around £100k a week. That plus him being so bad means we’ll do well to get £10m for him. I think after his impressive second half of the season in midfield for Fulham and with him being English we could get £20m for Chambers.
So £30m for the pair hopefully.
He's supposedly on 90k a week, that's nothing unless you're still living in 2008. Everton have around 9 players on 90k plus.
And he's not good enough for us but he's not that bad either. Arsenal fans always turn on the hyperbole when it comes to how bad some of our less popular players are.
He has his qualities - he's excellent on the front foot and aggressively winning the ball. It's his positioning and general awareness that are below par.
I'd hope we could nab £20m for him.

It's a lot in Italy, Germany and Spain though unless you play for a top club. I reckon that's gonna be the biggest issue with selling him. You need to find a club that is good enough for Mustafi to be interested that also pays well enough to accomodate him. No one better than us is going to be interested in him, obviously. But the Schalkes, the Romas and the Valencias in the tier below are being priced out too.

That's my thinking I reckon if someone like juve came in for him it's as a punt on someone 3rd choice. I cant see it being for a big free.

He’s good yes.
I’d like ya to sign Ake too
Upamecano or his CB partner Konate. The hype has died down on Upamecano and has went to De Ligt.
To be competitive, I think we need the following at an absolute minimum:
You’re not a fan of Kolasinacho? Our right wing is less of an issue than our left.
I think we're fine with Bellerin as the starting option but do agree we need cover for him. I don't think Kolasinac is going to work long term if we stick to the 433/4231 that we've seen Emery deploy to relative success the past few weeks. He's be good back up though.
Based on this evolving season, in order: center back, right back, left wing, nice to haves are central mid, left back, 10.

Can't disagree with this, although I might gamble on making a winger our priority.
I'd go CB, LB, RW, LW as must-haves and backup RB, CM (Xhaka replacement) as nice-to-haves. If I had to pick only 2 incomings, it would be LW and LB.

A genuine wide man would be my #1 priority in terms of our tactical requirement, followed by a more mobile upgrade on Xhaka. So far as #10 goes IMO Mkhi would be ideal if not for his age and wages.

Isn't Monreal out of contract this summer as well?
