Aubameyang and Dembele were big names before they went to Dortmund, not much scouting needed for those signings although Mislintat mentioned he first watched Dembele when he was in Rennes's reserves.
He deserves more credit for the likes of Pulisic, Kagawa or Piszczek - who was an insipid striker for Berlin before he became their starting right back for about a decade now.
