So Iwobi went from most improved player to flat out not good enough again?
Pepe, Ozil, and Iwobi could be an outrageous attacking midfield on the entertainment front. Could win us a fair few games as well.
yeah plenty of room to get Pepe and bring Nelson back
Welbeck and Ramsey likely both to be gone next summer anyhow
Room for someone like Under or Pavon too

But we need two wingers. Right now we have zero viable options. We have a poacher who is not a winger and two guys who are not good enough.

TBH I'm not sure we have the numbers in the attack in any shape. We lack genuine width to play from the flanks, and with the loss of Welbeck we now lack the numbers to play with a front 2, let alone to start with both PEA and Lacazette.
Rotate Auba and Laca based on form, it's the best way forward. Unless we go 4-3-3 and not 4-2-3-1.

The two are not mutually exclusive, but you won't have seen any "most improved player" stuff from me.
Iwobi's been awful last 3-4 games.
Awful is too strong, OTT

IMO the only way 433 works in terms of Emery's style & numbers would be to play as a 4213 with 2 holding players either side of a single CM going forward, but even then Ozil isn't suited to playing as part of a front 3 like Hazard.
Seen us 'linked' to Eric Bailly - presumably more so as a result of interest under previous management, not sure that he fits the current requirement at CB.
He just seems like such a useless signing. Raw player with a Diaby-like injury history. There's zero upside in getting him.
Totally agreed. Please no.
And another big no to Juan Mata on a free this summer. Precisely the profile of player we need to steer clear of.
Links to Emerson, Zagadou, Hermoso, Bailly, Joachim Andersen, Firpo, Pepe and Dembele for January.
Links for Elneny to leave too. Makes sense given Ainsley is back

My lack of sleep made me initially read this as Emery not Elneny, so I was very happy when the fog cleared.

Add there is still talk of Banega.
Maybe Banega will be the new Kalou
Maybe Kalou will be the new Kalou. Still only 33.
Denis Suarez linked. Not sure on that one
