Yeah he was (so was your favourite Mustafi by the way!) but that was quite a while ago, in the mean time he's lost all confidence he's ever had and we have someone relatively similar in Ramsey who's a lot better in most aspects.

Eh, I really didn't expect him to be so terrible here to be fair. 😆 I have seldom given up on Arsenal players, not even Xhaka. But Mustafi is like the very few first teamers I have totally lost hopes for in the 2 decades watching Arsenal. The other 2 is Almunia and Denilson.

Yeah well I'm still holding out hope that Emery can turn him around but then I rated him since his days in Italy. He's still young 26 for a defender is nothing.

Think I've kept hoping for virtually every player who's ever turned out for us, don't think any have really never showed that they had talent enough to potentially become a squad player at least. The only exception being of course professional con artist Mikael 'Peanut Dickhead' Silvestre

Juventus is nowhere near the same league as the others. They feed primarily on free transfers (clearly have a great track record at it) and taking the best from Serie A as a lot of players may like to stay in Italy and so on. Higuain was on the back of getting 80M for Pogba. Agree re: the rest. Some jouno claiming that RM have an agreement to sign Mbappe for 272M - sounds like a load of tripe.

You're right about Juve, it's just they're very in vogue now. There used to be both Milan clubs, hell even the likes of Lazio, also in contention for the biggest signatures.

Your description of Juventus is almost verbatim the one you'd have to use for Bayern except Bayern don't even break the bank for top players. Bayern might have had the better squad in recent years (although that gap is non-existent these days, some would even say it's flipped) but in terms of reputation they're very much equals.

You are probably right. I was a little swayed by them coughing up 40 - 50M for Vidal and Tolisso, but the majority of the remainder is exactly the same as Juve (vultures feeding off other Bundesliga clubs).
