I'm not saying he's coming here, but there are reasons for him potentially leaving PSG. Remember the cringey apology he was clearly made to give last summer because his agent spoke out about a move to Barca?

I've also seen quite a few different stories about him being shopped around this summer (United aren't interested because he's too small, and they've already signed Fred who's a short arse... gotta love Mourinho!). Partly because of the treatment he received last summer but also because he got told he was fat by new coach Thomas 'the charmer' Tuchel. 😆

Verrati would be a dream, it is so ridiculous that there may be an element of truth to this.

The reality is, Real, Atletico, Barca, City and Bayern do not let an opportunity like this pass them by if he is available.

Obviously he may have grown to like Emery, and that can help, but surely it is too far fetched?

You'd think so, but who knows? We managed to sign Özil once because he was fond of Wenger.

Barca have shopped for way too much over the last year or so. I think we can rule them out unless they do something unforeseen like selling Dembele. Atletico probably aren't even in the mix. His transfer fee and wage demands would be out of their league. Bayern have James now and they seem pretty happy with him.

You'd think City would be interested, but Verratti is not a Guardiola type of player. Real would be an obvious destination, maybe along with Juventus. They have more money in Turin than they can spend and they need to rejuvenate their team. Verratti could anchor their midfield for a decade. He'd be the perfect prestige signing too. He's probably gonna end up being the best Italian player of his generation.

They're probably in for Thiago though who seems unsettled at Bayern. Probably a better fit for them too although Verratti would be a great player for literally any side.

If PSG really sell him he has to be Juventus bound you'd imagine.

I agree with you and Klaus, possibly Juventus look like the perfect fit.

I have to say, I personally feel Real Madrid would make a lot of sense. Modric is coming to the end, and there is talk of Kroos being unsettled.

If somehow we pulled it off, it would be an absolute game changer. Verratti and Torreira in midfield? After watching Xhaka, Elneny, Coquelin et al, this would be a dream in a dream. 😆

Di marzio and independent linking us to Andre gomes. Seen a handful of his matches at barca and never really been impressed. He did arrive there with quite a bit of hype from Valencia

I do think we need a progressive, playmaking centre mid. Xhaka and torreiras passing is cautious, and Ramsey isn't really a string puller either

Dimarzio claiming that we are interested in Andre Gomes - ask of EUR 40M from Barca. Don't know much about him, but on principle do not want a Barca reject who couldn't get into their squad ahead of a Sprs reject (I know Paulinho is way different now and has even scored in the WC and all of that, but to me, he is still a Sprs reject first and foremost).
