And he is trying to strengthen the most vital position with a massive upgrade, but the selling club is reluctant to let go and the player doesn't seem too keen on leaving either. Not (m)any alternatives out there either.

You can never please everyone, I guess.

For me, I see clear signs that we are actively looking to improve the first team. We've already upgraded one crucial position with the best player available on the market and are looking to do the same in the most important position in the team. Should we succeed in doing so, it will be a near-perfect summer for me. Should we not, tough luck, try again next window. No need to bring in players that won't raise our level or congest one position just for the sake of buying though.

I agree with that wussed.
I think we're just a great CF away from an excellent summer's activity.
For once I agree with Wenger's assessment of what we have, what we need and what we can do without.

Still not happy with being trolled by Benzema 🙂

I agree that he needs to strengthen the first team, but how easy is it?
Arsenal have Cech
Chelsea have Falcao and Begovic (minus Cech)
City have Sterling and Delph
Liverpool have Firmino, Milner, Benteke and a bunch of guys I'm not bothered to recall (minus Sterling)
United have Schweinsteiger, Schneilderin, DePay, Darmian (minus RVP, Falcao)

From that group, United are the ones who have strengthened most, but I'm not seeing a banner summer from any of the top teams, certainly not in line with the promises of EPL strength versus other leagues. Yes, Wenger needs to step it up, but it's probably not that easy right now

Chelsea need the least upgrading because they're champions. We finished 12 points behind them. Cech and "internal solutions" aren't going to bridge that gap. City were already ahead of us too and remain so (though they need to do more to compete IMO) and United have completely sorted their lack luster midfield.
