Yeah, I'm not a massive fan of Stannis either.

Regarding Sons of Anarchy, just watched the third ep of Season 5. That was some fucking intense shit. Think the big event should have happened right at the end of the ep though.

They're all gonna die anyway. Love this story but it's terribly depressing.

I bet the coming of the Chosen One (or Two (or Three)) gets cut short by a mammoth falling on top of him/her/them. Wouldn't surprise me the least.

It's like a rollercoaster into a volcano you know you're fucked at the end might as well enjoy the thrills while up top.

I love Stannis in the TV show. Stephen Dillane's performance is great. He comes across as so tortured and burdened.

Can't stand the book version though. Book Stannis is basically Sideshow Bob continually walking into all the rakes. "Grrrr" grits teeth... "Grrrr" grits teeth.... "Grrrr"...

I'd agree with that, in the tv series Stannis appears like a poor star crossed cunt that no matter what he does he's fated to be hated by (all) the gods.

I think that the main characters will be Jon and Daeneys, I don't think that Jon is actually Ned's son but Ned's sister Lyanna's son who was abducted by Rhaegor so he is also a Targaryen.

That's not a spoiler btw, cos I don't think the book has gotten that far yet. They could end up getting flattened by a mammoth anyway.

Well, it's implying that various characters are still alive so it is a spoiler.

Also, a theory that's based on a huge amount of book evidence but very little in the TV show is also definitely a spoiler.

I'm hoping that the fact the novel series is unfinished and slow-going will either mean that it's left unfinished, but concluded as a TV series, or that the apparent emerging trajectory of the novel series will be diverted as a consequence of the TV series.

Can see both happening, Martin seems to have much less interest in the books since he realised his TV series dream.

George RR Martin would be murdered (literally) by some nutjob GOT fan if that happens.

It would be disgraceful.

He's a very slow writer anyway, always has been, I don't think that he's lost interest.

He doesn't even actually write them himself, he has an army of writers slaving away (his unsullied as it were) and he merely puts it together.

Maybe we should discuss this in the "Books what you is reading" thread.
