I thought Season 1 was class, but it's been downhill ever since.
I only vaguely know of what happens in the comics, but it sounds like it was too much for the show to juggle, although maybe that's because of AMC?
HBO does well with shows like Boardwalk and GoT in terms of balancing and fleshing out shitloads of characters. Whereas Walking Dead, Mad Men, Breaking Bad etc are made on a much smaller character scale. Or maybe I'm reading too much into what networks they're on?
