my interest in homeland wavered after around episode 7. everything got a bit silly this season, a bit too 24-ish. ill have to check out the last few all in one go.

dexter finale was predictable but well done. looking forward to the final season.

Homeland is amazing. Brilliant finale. I did not see anything like that coming at all. I thought he was going to end up taking Walden's place and run for president in season 3.

I didn't like the Homeland finale at all. The whole "it was Nazirs plan all along" stuff was just a bit more of a logic jump than I was willing to make.

Dexter finale was grand up until the very last moment which kind of ruined it, would have just been better if Dex had killed her himself. Like the way its set up for Angel to hunt Dex next year though.

I thought the finale was pretty decent. I didn't like last season's finale though and I didn't like most of this season. The main reason I keep watching is because it has the best cast on tv at the moment.

Ok, now I've caught up on the most recent three episodes of Sons of Anarchy.

Fuck that was a lot of plot. I was almost exhausted by it. Overall, it's still bullshit but it was far more satisfying than season four. I quite like the place things have gotten to leading into season six as well.

Watched the season finale of Dexter yesterday. Series was ok I guess. Last season ended in a way that made this season interesting to begin with. Now I am kind of back to my previous stance - show should have been cancelled a few seasons ago.
I'll defo watch the final season, but mostly because I want to finish a show I have started.
Hate what they have done to Deb. She was my fave character before. 🙁

Gave up on Dexter last season. I'd heard promising things about the new season so I watched the first episode - dear god. I think people are too invested into the characters and seeing what happens next that they don't realise how far down hill it has gone.

It's spineless. They lack the guts to take it anywhere new. Debs reaction is completely unbelievable, utterly crap. But it's the only way they could carry on as normal.

This season did take it in a bit of a different direction though. Where as other years you had Ligtgow, Dexs Brother, Tom Hanks kid, etc as the main bad guy this season was structured pretty differently. It also had no clear cut ending like all those other seasons, its just set us up for the final season. Dexter isn't a great show but it never was, its always been clunky and filled with way too much exposition and really Dexter is the only interesting character but its been that way since day 1.

I've always liked Debra's character, until this season. I hate what they have turned her into. The only thing good remaining with it is how they find new ways for her to say fuck...
I also think the girlfriend angle this season is old. Pretty much Lilah MKII.
The fact that they have made some of the cops a bit smarter than a 2 by 4 is about fucking time. Like no one would have been suspicious of Dexter...
And when does Dexter sleep btw? And find room in his busy schedule to see his son?

Deb was grand when we weren't supposed to care any more about how she felt than Batista, Masuka, Laguerta, etc Now she's almost on a par with Dex and all she does is make cry faces and whinge. And I know that might ring true to her circumstances but its just not engaging to watch.

True. I also don't like that she no longer sees things in black and white. It was always a trait in her character that I appreciated.

Walt is evil. He's absolutely wrecked Jesse's life. No idea where the show's going to go next, especially how they'll end it. Imagining some sort of uneasy truce with Gus before the cartel come back in a big way. I hope Hank doesn't take down Walt or anything like that, would feel too 'conventional' for BB. Also can't believe how well drawn the rest of the cast has become, especially compared to the first season where I couldn't stand Hank, Marie, Skylar etc... Everyone's been given a chance to shine by now. But scary ol' Mike's my fav of the supporting cast, even if he looks like this guy.

Just watched the first episode of Baking Bread season 5. Both me and the missus realize we have to rewatch last season's finale. Memory kills you when you reach our age...

How du you guys rate Homeland? Heard good things about the show and I am considering giving it a go. Worhwhile?

I gave up after a few early episodes of S2, got predictable and boring.

S1 was pretty good though.

Homeland is good, not sure I get the hype but definitely an enjoyable show.

homeland is stellar until about halfway through S2. im not really on board for next season.
