It was the same with that other show, Fastforward. You put all that money and effort into something you would think they would at least make sure they got casting right.

Flashforward got good near the end but the main character was annoying as heck. Everyone was annoying actually.

Normally I'm not one to obsess over picture quality but I have to say, the newly released bluray version of the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation is absolutely stunning. I picked up a copy as a birthday present for a friend earlier this week but had to go back and grab one for myself today. It was like watching a whole new show. Everything has been cleaned up, remade and remastered. The HD transfer makes it look like something that could've been produced just a couple years ago. Maybe it's because the old episodes looked like they were recorded on old wornout VHS tapes. I remember thinking that the quality was fucking horrible back when it showed up on tv over here in the nineties and it stayed that way when it was re-released on dvd a few years back. This is what it was supposed to look like:

Finished season 3 of Justified last night. Madly disappointed to now find out that there is no season 4. 🙁

Wonder how long it'll take for them to get season 3 and 4...

I think the second season is planned to be released around Christmas (apparently with over 20 minutes of unseen footage for 'The Measure of a Man' episode where Data's human rights are on trial). Seasons 3 and 4 were slated for release early next year but I read somewhere that they're already finishing up the third season. Hopefully it means that they're ahead of schedule. I'd love it if they managed to clear the TNG run at the end of next year. That way we won't have to wait until 2015 for Deep Space Nine to get the same treatment.

Watched the series 2 finale of the Walking Dead this week. Thought the penultimate episode was the better one, but good to see they're (finally) kicking up through the gears.

Working my way through The Wire for the first time. Just finished season 2; it's quality but not as incredible as everyone goes on.

Problem with watching these shows after you've heard it hyped up to such an extent is its always going to fail to live up to expectations.

Having finished season 3 of Justified, I need another good show as my running machine diversion. 🙂

I don't keep a list around. 🙂 Within the constraints of realistic drama I found that, off the top of my head, The Shield, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad and a couple of others touched deeper nerves though.

I suppose it depends on what you're after. Realism? Comedy? Fairy tales? Historical drama? You seem to have a fascination for American sports. Odds are you'd like Friday Night Lights if you haven't already seen it.
