I haven't read the books but my friend said that the third and fourth seasons will be crazy and that lots of people are going to be angry. I don't know what it's going to be buti'm looking forward to it. Season 2 was really good but sloppy at times. It's still as good as any show out there...

The first episode of Breaking Bad was pretty good. I hope this season doesn't get too obvious and boring though... I already have a feeling about how the story is going to unfold but i hope i'm wrong.

After season 3 i think it's going to be cancelled because the comics get really boring and lazy. Considering the show is so watered down compared to the comics, i'd say they're going to struggle to keep viewers interested after a few big twists.

I'm making these assumptions based on what I think season 3 will be about (based on the comics) but if they start to put in fillers with useless shit about everyone then it'll be cancelled long before then.

I'd actually appreciate you guys having a separate thread for Breaking Bad if you intend to theorise about it. I'm definitely holding off until the last episode is done and dusted.

I know what you mean though, but those sorts of things are also the only real standout feature of the series. It's basically generic fantasy where the characters aren't immune from bad shit happening to them, including death.

One problem I've had with the last couple of books is the opposite - it had already become obvious which characters were being saved for a conclusive conflict in the series, and in the last two books it's almost been like they're oscillating pointlessly waiting for the rest of the action to catch up, including a lot of new stuff that feels a bit bloated and tacked on.

Totally agree Burnsy, after "RW" the story goes flat, but things pick up again in the last book.

There was a lot of stuff happening in about the final quarter of the most recent book, but my mind was so drained by the first three quarters a lot of it barely sank in. It was clearly trying to get "more epic" though.

I'm contemplating re-reading from scratch. Not sure about it. The TV series is so good I thought might as well pretend I don't know about the books.

Finished season 2 of Justified this morning. Damn good season with a great ending.
Starting season 3 tonight. 🙂

3 probably not quite as good as 2, but still very good. Some great characters, acting and dialogue in there.

Last 18 months I personally haven't seen any, but Newsroom is supposed to be very good.

Allowing last 24 months, then Boardwalk Empire, which is exceptional.

Going a bit further back Bobs Burgers, Happy Endings, Alphas.

Have to say as much as I loved the West Wing I'm not a massive fan of Sorkin, too far up his own arse and his characters are always morally superior to the point when you start to dislike them a little.

Will check those out though.
