Hmmm. Not sure what I'd compare it to.
It's essentially a buddy comedy, quite straightforward laugh out loud stuff.
Doesn't try to be too clever.
Think it works because it's genuinely belly laugh funny, the characters are brilliantly cast and there's a certain bitter sweet air to it as well.
