Why go through the whole trial thing as the best ad ever to every bad guy out there if Holmes meant everything to him? As I said, makes little sense to me.

if you were to guess rex, i'd say (spoilers) that wasn't never the real moriarty. him and sherlock both faking their own deaths has a symmetry to it

Rex: *It was just to trick Holmes and get other criminals to think that he had something they needed.

Moriarty was bored with life and was looking for an end game. He found an archnemesis in Holmes that was actually smarter than him so he made it his goal to destroy him. The fact that it did came at the expense of his own life in the end didn't really matter. Judging by the conversation on the rooftop he would have ended it soon enough anyway. It was a way for him to cut off (what he was sure was) Holmes's last way out of the mess, thereby proving he'd beaten him. He pulled the trigger with a smug face.

Just watched the first two episodes of Alcatraz. It's as miserable as Arsenal 2011/12.

i saw it too Cali.. i thought it was OK, but not much more than that.. i actually like the fat guy from Lost on it, but not big fan of Sam Neill's or the lead girl...

If thats the case then the shows broken because of it is that moriartys death is fake then it means Sherlocks powers are shit because he couldn't spot a fake right in front of him. In the books he dies

If its going to just be them chasing another bad guy every week and then giving us a tiny nugget of the mythology I'm definitely not bothered.
