Deadwood is amazeballs. At times it's difficult to believe you're watching the same actor who once played Lovejoy.
Or amazeyballs as they say here in Ireland.
... sorry to drag the thread off topic, but this makes me giggle every time.
'amazeyballs' has now replaced 'amazeballs' in Dublin lexicon (at least amongst everyone I know), thanks to these with-it politicians:

Totes amazeyballs.

You told me this years ago and I decided to watch it. Enjoyed it thoroughly but didn't finish the seasons. Need to start back up again from season 3 I think.

You used to say the Shield was better. :hmm:
When I questioned you, you replied that I only preferred The Wire because of the gangster shit. 😆

Literally.
It's like Harold Bishop playing Walter White.

The shield ended very, very strong.
But some of the middle seasons were shocking.
I don't remember ever saying the shield was better. Maybe that it had a better last season.
And your user name is Tony Montana, of course I think you love gangster shit. 😆
😆
I actually preferred the police work and social dynamics.
I've only ever seen Scarface once.
Will have to check all these out. Only one i've seen in full is Breaking Bad. Seen the first season of The Wire which was great and 2 episodes of Mad Men which i've just started. I reckon i'll be giving up on that. Everyone seems to rate it but it looks like something i'll get bored of quickly
I have no idea why I actually like Mad Men, but I like it very much. 🙂 Oh, and I fucking HATE Pete Campbell.
I liked Mad Men at first but by season 5 I started finding it insanely boring. Doesn't help that not a single one of the characters are likeable. Might pick it up again I guess.
lol i remember having the same discussion on a-m with qs, who was firmly shield > wire at the time. mustve been the druggie years, seeing as though his memory is fuzzy about it 😉

The last two seasons of Mad Men is amazing.
I especially love the business scenes when they are pitching to clients.
Don Draper is a great character. Ultimate Alpha-Male but with demons.
The French Canadian bird he gets is incredibly hot.
Had exactly the same experience. Smashed through the first 4 series and then realised I wasn't enjoying it any more and I really disliked Don. My wife kept watching it though.
It gets much better, keep watching guys!

You're not supposed to like Don.

Give it time. It took me about a season and a half to fully appreciate how great it was. It's also worth sticking with just for the first episode of season 5 and Zou Bisou Bisou. Genuinely.

Really? He's the best character in the show!
