The actual Rampart scandal is well worth making things about, but I really disliked the Harrelson film. Thought it was a pointless, unconvincing thing. For a point of reference, I didn't like Training Day or Street Kings (which to be fair was flat out terrible) either.
One of the few times I've ever thought "this is just a bunch of white guilt for white folks" ... slushy US liberal dribble. The system should've been the protagonist, and that's where someone like David Simon excels as a storyteller. I don't like the tendency to turn these affairs into modern morality tales about individuals.
