More than that - we have a nice cash balance just sitting there and has been growing nicely year on year. I know they ring fence a portion to meet whatever obligations they have with the bank but the club should be able to easily buy one or two top players outright.

Lack of UCL shouldn't affect us much at all, if any since the new TV deal kicked in. 14 other clubs has no UCL either and has shown plenty of ambition to improve their squad. As things stand we are the only club making a profit out of both PL and Championship. Our net spend is lower than Fleetwood Town.

Every team in the Prem is throwing around money, to suggest we do not have money is laughable. Do not get taken in by this very basic con. The club have done this many times, and it is always proven false. Do not let these simple mind games divide your attention and distract you.

as has been pointed out, we've made a profit this summer and presumably reduced our wage bill as well.

we likely still have more cash on hand than any team in the premier league. yet we have no money to spend.

I think xhaka and mustafi can work well.in the right setup with ordered roles. Giving them carte blanche in a loose system is totally going to exposes each ones weaknesses.

if that is accurate, debuchy is on 70k. campbell and perez arent listed, but id imagine campbell is on 30k or so, and perez is probably around 60-70k.

so far, we've gotten rid of gabriel (50k), gibbs (60k), jenkinson (45k)

wilshere is on 90k, which is scandalous. welbeck on 70k and walcott on 110k.

astounding stuff.

Reasons why this situation won't change.

I just sold my ticket for Bournemouth on the arsenal exchange in 51 minutes on a deadline day that looks epically bad. There is always someone looking for their one tourist game or a tout who will take it on and charge 3x the price to a lunatic.

The club will have a steady stream of football tourists getting their "large premiership stadium" badge ticked off.

Begs belief that we couldn't just pay Sagna £20K more per week, yet we ended up wasting over £20 million on this absolute flop.
