He looks better than Chambers based on his youtube compilations. Really tall too, possibly 6'3".

A more exciting signing than Chambers was for me. This kid looks a proper defender.

The biggest issue with Chambers is his lack of game time. Holding will go the same way it he also doesn't get games.

Well Holding looks much quicker, stronger and tougher in the tackle.

I remember watching Chambers' Southampton highlights when we were being linked and wondering what the fuss was about. Don't get that feeling with Holds.

Chambers' lack of game time has to do with him failing to perform when called upon. It's not hard to oust Mertesacker or Gabriel. He hasn't been up to it. Who recalls his 1st half performance home to Liverpool last season? 😆

It was pretty damn obvious that his first half was a direct result of not playing regularly.

You think it wouldn't be hard for a 21 year old to oust a world cup winner and a Brazilian international?

as flawed as per is, i guess we should go with kos/per this season, then make chambers and holding the 2nd choice pairing. launch gabriel into the sun

If you gonna go by that logic then Eder is a European Champion. Hardly any great shakes is he.

As for Gabriel, one of the most nervous looking defenders I've ever seen at Arsenal.

Laporte and Rugani are around Chambers' age. Both would walk in to our XI in front of Per and Gab.

Btw, Gabriel an 'international' with exactly zero caps for Brazil.

The only good CB we have is Koscielny. Wenger's record with CB's is not great.

I like this signing. Championship defenders are sometimes a tad underrated. Plenty of good defenders come from the lower leagues.

Still need to complement such youth signings with a genuine one though.

someone explain to me what the plan is with Chambers, Holding and Gaby of Sao Paulo. That's some 50m pounds of who knows what. Why didn't we just save our money for a top, top centre back and blood some kid from North London to be 4th CB?
