the pacing is quite rapid this season. i didn't expected the dany stuff to get wrapped up so quickly, or sansa to meet up with jon until later
Game of thrones thread (spoilers)
Jaime is the weakest link in the show right now, he brings nothing to the table other than being Cerseis bitch and all the character development since he lost his hand seems to have been for naught.
He wears black now too, just moping around.
He's even got an emo haircut and a trench coat

i was talking to a colleague about this very subject today. in some ways its quite realistic for him to fall straight back into old habits when he's around cersei, and tyrion isnt around. it just doesnt make for a very compelling arc
Jamie isn't really a part of anything at the moment, I don't think they have a role for him so they're just keeping him involved by making him follow Cercei around for the time being.
I'm more disappointed in Jon, I was hoping he'd show a lot more conviction rather than having to be badgered by Sansa into taking back his home, rescuing his little half brother and defending his sisters honour.

The "real" Jon showed that kind of conviction. In the books Jon was killed by the night's watch precisely because he was going to use the wildling army in order to take back Winterfell. His assassination was very understandable in the books, and arguably justified. The show simplified it far too much and removed a lot of the nuance from the situation.
The show has changed a load of stuff regarding Jon and the wall this season.
Sounds like they want to turn him into more of a goody two-shoes. Even then, they've ended up making him look spineless, you'd have liked to have seen some anger and fire in his belly when reading out the letter.

They are definitely going black and white on us, on a show that never was supposed to be that way. In the upcoming battle for Winterfell you have Jon on one side, and they killed off the icy, calculating Roose to make room for Ramsay who someone correctly said has gone beyond a caricature of evil. Not the most refined of show writing. That said I think this is the shows strongest start in the last few years.
Better episode this week. Still a few weak segments but overall more going on and we avoided some of the boring shites too. Ramsey is just so clownish though. People want him dead because they hate him, I just want him gone because he's so tedious and moustache twirly.

I enjoyed her a bit more too but they laid on the "oh my sister, oh my brother", "take back our families home and save our brother" stuff a bit thick considering most people know the reveal thats coming.
I quite like the scenes with Ramsey, I thought the exchange with the bloke who brought him Rickon was great.

Maybe thats what happens when you die and come back to life.
The fire does go out, you're sick of it all the same thing year after year after year, until all thats left is a cynical apathetic shell.
Oh wait.
Is no thread safe?
Nope. :saint:
Some interesting theories going round about how Cersei is orchestrating a coming Tyrell & Sparrow bloodbath. I hope it's not the way things play out, because there's no way Cersei would be able to so comprehensively outmaneuver Olenna. It'll be absurd if Olenna suddenly turns into a complete imbecile because the plot requires it.
If Cersei tries anything stupid, she'll end p in exile begging Wee Man for a part of his action
I'd like to she her married off to a Khal he'd put manners on her.
you need to put some respeck on her name

Yeah from the theories I've heard they'd be awful and make very little sense without series plot convolutions. I also agree that Cersei isn't that smart, she never has been. It was always Tywin and Tyrion doing the thinking for the Lannisters.
