I'm creating this thread because I don't want to have to avoid the TV thread once GoT season 6 comes out.

Anyone see the latest trailer? Very well put together, the music was great.

Thoughts on Jon?

My thoughts in white: Jon is dead, but will undoubtedly be resurrected by episode 2 at the latest. However, not by Melisandre. He'll be burned on a funeral pyre with his sword, as is custom, but he'll be resurrected thanks to his Targaryen blood. Proving that he's Azor Ahai, and longclaw will become lightbringer.

Also, interestingly enough, since he'll have "died" (technically) Jon will have fulfilled his oath to the night's watch allowing him to leave the wall if he wishes. I expect him to stake a claim for warden/king of the north once his legitimate lineage is revealed (R+L=J). He'll probably go to Winterfell in order to save Sansa and I suspect that littlefinger will reveal the legitimacy of his blood.

Haven't read your spoiler yet, but just wanted to point out that the Jon storyline is now at the point where Martin left it in the books. Just speculation from this point on in regards to Jon.

the last finale was garbage imo, and the season was the weakest overall. hopefully they turn things around

Agree. The episode where the White Walkers attacked was really good though. Still think seasons 1 is by far the best.

Decent guesses Irish. I'm a bit more interested after seeing that trailer, it will be a genuinely new story. Nice little nod to The Hobbit with Tyrion facing up to a dragon in the dark. 🙂

I don't think I care about the books any more.

The little bollocks killed Ygritte too.

Fuck Olly

needs to get got. future alliser thorne. i have a feeling the white walkers will give him a seeing to

My nephew does a mean cello version which is quite moving but I still think this is the version that captures the raw brutality.

I have figured out season 6. I have a huge list of things that will happen, and a list of people who will die.

So characters who die:

Ramsay
Rickon
Roose
Osha
Olly
Allister
Edd
Smalljon

The last season was dire, hopefully it was because they had their hands tied by the books. Hoping for a more coherent and satisfying story going forward.

So Sansa will claim the North?

Last season was utter shit, I hope they have an end point in mind soon. Feels like a show thats spinning its wheels.

Funny you say that, because that's exactly what's going on in the books. 🙂

In the trailer you can see Sansa on a battlefield standing in front of Stark banners, so I reckon she'll claim it yeah (or Jon).

I've had Sansa down as the endgame since I read the first book. Everyone underrates her. She's like a pawn who slowly moves across the chess board and ends up a queen.

I'm not sure Ramsay will die by the way. Well, the show is more of a crowdpleaser so maybe he'll die there, but he's such a vile character that it would be typical for Martin to just leave him alive when everything is said and done, to illustrate that there's no poetic justice in Westeros.

The ideal endgame is probably Dany taking the iron throne, Tyrion becoming lord of casterly rock, and Jon becoming the warden of the North. The 3 Targaryens effectively ruling the kingdom. But that's probably a bit too neat and tidy to be the actual ending.

Klaus is right—Sansa's a major protagonist.

I would assume at least one of the central characters will be sacrificed in the finale, when it does arrive.

Reading the books I quite early found the Arya storyline the most intriguing, and in the last book Bran's storyline also became interesting. Sansa is such a weak character IMO, and she doesn't really interest me.

If Sansa was as important as ye think I doubt they'd have switched the whole Ramsey rape thing to focus more on Theons reaction to it than hers, surely that would be a moment you'd use to illustrate her perspective and experience shifting rather than his.
