Great early signing. Who's next? Please let there be a next!
Granit Xhaka
Are we doing a gif thing ?
Won't believe it until Jeinny confirms it.
------Ozil---
Wilshere--Xhaka--
COME AT US.

Arsenal close to signing Gladbach mdf Granit Xhaka. Agreement reached on £30m deal, in London to finalise terms, medical this weekend #AFCbrilliant stuff
This is it.
It's done lads.James Olley: Xhaka is indeed set for a medical at #afc.

Arsenal moving ever closer to first summer signing. Formal confirmation of Granit Xhaka deal likely next weekNow eveybodie ...
Fuck all three of them, Wilson and Olley are bullshit merchants and Ornstein only opens his mouth when a deal is 99.999% done, can't recall the last time he's had a genuine bit of info. RP as you've mentioned though is a reasonably legit medium, important to note that they explicitly mention it's their own info ie they're not giving themselves any leeway to retract their claims.
Higuain and a RB early enough so they can do a full pre-season with us and it's a 10/10 summer
RB?
No thanks.
Rather a centre back and a winger.
After a forward that is.
I'm not blown away by this guy I have to admit. Doesn't seem to have the personality to be the controller/dictator like Gilberto and Arteta were. Match comps show him looking pretty erratic with his passing, despite his impressive range at times.

We need a RB cover to replace Debuchy. Bellerin has remained injury free so far in the 50-60 games he's played for us but we all know that'll change very soon
Ideally we'd get a winger and then replace one of our CBs as well but that'd be a transfer window that's beyond unrealistic for us. My expectations have already been surpassed with the Xhaka signing alone tbf
He clearly is a better passer than Coquelin. How's his touch though? It's more evident when watched a lot for 90 minutes and I haven't done that.
Either ways, the intent of early business is encouraging. Hopefully we get more and soon.
His long passing is great, particularly when he's switching play. He doesn't seem to have the technique or feel to be as consistent with his shorter passes. His touch isn't amazing either, not exactly a graceful player. Good player overall though.
We could still use a more calm, assured positional midfielder in the squad. No real need for Coquelin anymore, get him out for somebody who plays well under pressure and excels at short passes and establishing control of midfield. Play a DM/Xhaka/Ramsey CM in Europe.
Good solid signing to start the summer, much needed player in the middle of the park.
good signing. midfield has been in disarray for a while now
We now have an impressive array of talent in the middle now. Players with different characteristics from one another. This is going to be very useful over the course of an entire season.
We're getting to a stage now that if two midfielders were to sustain long term injuries, we'll be able to cope with minimum problems. Excellent position to be in.
Caz, Coq, Wilshere, Xhaka, Özil, Ramsey, Elneny is a very decent complement but I wonder if someone's off.
I wonder if Xhaka, Cazorla, Özil would be a balanced midfield.
I think Cazorla will leave as Elneny and Ramsey will be picked ahead of him and he is not very good playing the odd game here and there.
No chance we lose one of our best players in Cazorla.
Top signing.

It won't be our choice.
If Wenger tells him he cannot give him regular games, like Pires, he will make the decision.
I, personally, like the guy but can only see him staying if Ozil goes.

Please let it be a striker.
Morata is next. We'll get that done before the Euros too
Haven't really been frequenting the transfer side of things until now.
Did anyone have their eye on this guy before Wenger swooped?
Never heard of him myself.
Replacement for Teta, Flamini and Rosicky all rolled into one player?
What's his injury record?
Never heard of him either.
What are his top achievements in his career thus far?
Can he fight as well as play nice football? Speak English? Is he a leader? Does he have social media?
the basic scouting report:
- big and strong
- rocket left foot
- great range of passing
- bit of a hothead
- not really fast/quick
- natural leadership abilities
- cool last name
What about a cool first name....hard as Granit?

xhaka's name has occasionally been bandied about on here in the last 18 months
he's a little bit young schweini, a little bit xabi alonso, and he's a lefty

fair play, he was the first person to tweet that we were seriously in for xhaka.
itk on the rise
Thanks for the memories Clrnc

He makes aggressive slide tackles and gets carded a lot, so the answer in England is "yes".
He'll certainly help to change the attitude in our squad. He's spikey
Thanks.
Pablo Camden is a legit ITK

Cheers.
Reading around it seems that is the consensus.
I also saw him compared to Dele Alli
He's the captain of Mönchengladbach and Switzerland at 23, he plays like Alonso/Arteta as a DLP, he's proper hard on the pitch. Ticks all the boxes we need.
I hope we pair him with Cazorla, with Coq, Elneny and Wilsh as their backups. Ramsey will probably be involved higher up the pitch, meaning we wont buy a genuine wide-forward.

I think Mr X was eluding to this a while back when he said we were actively pursuing a player with dark hair

Been doing some research. Hearing he is Lorik Cana meets Manu Petit.
His favourite film is Every Given Sunday.
Whatever happened to Cana? In our desperation for a DM, us Arsenal fans have resorted to begging the Lord Wenger for some god awful midfielders like Cana and M'Vila.
Can see him forming a good partnership with Ramsey actually.
But that said any of these look tasty
-----Xhaka--Wilshere
-----Xhaka--Ramsey
-----Xhaka - Zelalem
