Wrote about just that in the Wenger thread just now. I think he is totally barking up the wrong tree here.

Wasn't a surprise result to us. The frustrating thing isn't losing but that Wenger clearly must think we are good enough to compete with real intent at this level. We needed strengthening in the summer and he's done next to nothing as far as the outfield is concerned

I think he was truly surprised how far we are technically to Barca. He has spent 6 years building this team since we last met them.

That was really horrible. He could even have shot, the angle was wide open there and Barcelona only have 2 defenders left in the box. It's up there with Ox's pathetic attempt.

Yeah, that was, eh, special. We had Giroud on the ball in the penalty box on his strong foot, Theo's run put Walcott and Özil 2 v 1 right in front of goal, and then Giroud does that. I'll tell you what, even if Walcott HAD made that run, I think it would have been the wrong decision to play that pass; there was absolutely no reason whatsoever to take the ball from a dangerous position and put it into a totally harmless position.

I'm far more disappointed than I should be, after that 1st half I really thought we'd get a result.

Chambo's a pussy. Theo is gash. Sanchez is le cut inside man but not as good. Ozil did fuck all. Giroud tries hard but is far too limited.

Our attack needs an overhaul. Mert and Flam need to be sent to the glue factory.

It's the same old thing that comes back to bite us in these games- there's a serious lack of composure in our team.

There were countless occasions when we tried to rush things without making sure the pass was on, especially in the second half.

Comparing that Chamberlain chance with their first goal sums up the difference between the teams.

Well, it is never going to be a fair comparison between arguably the best player ever and an inconsistent kid who has never really been a goal scorer, is it? Of course Chambo should have scored, but I wouldn't say Chambo v Messi 'sums up the difference between the teams'.

I'd also like to point out that Messi took that chance like a fucking boss. I'd guess that 95 out of 100 players would have taken that chance with a first time finish; Messi taking an extra touch totally fooled Cech, and that takes some doing.

We gave them too much respect sometimes. That is also why Giroud rushed his decisions and lost all composure. I am actually surprised Ozil is very guilty of that as well, most of his passes fell short and was intercepted easily.

It's a fair comparison in that Ox plays week in week out for us. If you want him to be compared to some other "kid" (who turns 23 this season) like Munir or some other academy product of theirs then he shouldn't start games against fucking Barcelona.

I want him sold. Giroud was almost as bad with his blind ball and similarly shit overall but I wouldn't be against keeping him as a squad player, he's shown he can be useful at times as long as we don't rely on him too much. Chamberlain is the worst finisher at the club, remember how he managed to put the ball over the bar from a yard out vs Bayern at home after Özil scored? He's had enough chances.

The whole move was ruthlessly efficient. I was just saying to a work colleague, against most teams to 'lapses' for the first goal probably don't end up leading to a chance.
