Klopp "I would never sign an asshole just because he’s great at football."

Would be so hypocritical to try signing Götze now. 😆

What makes him an asshole?

Backstabbing his former club over a release clause so he can move to their biggest domestic rivals and leaking the transfer to the press days before the CL final against them for instance.

Search the forum for Götze and you'll find a few pages worth of reasons.

Has it been established that he leaked it?

Yeah, that's what I'd like to know as well. Personally, I don't think it makes any sense. Further, I don't think it makes him an asshole either for agreeing to go to Bayern when they activated his release clause. There was a reason why he was adamant the clause should be in there, and Dortmund knew this all along.

The release clause was put in place a year ago before the transfer happened when he signed a new contract. Further obviously Dortmund agreed to it which why they offered him a contract with that clause. It wasn't also leaked before the final. It was leaked during the semi-final stages. Finally it would make no sense for Gotze to undermine his own chance of winning the champions league.

Yes, obviously Dortmund agreed to it because otherwise he wouldn't have signed on in the first place, Götze had them bent over a barrel when they negotiated his last extension. He got a massive wagerise, forced them to include the RC plus had another clause where Dortmund pay 10% of the transfer fee to him instead of the buying club.

It also wasn't Bayern who triggered it, the information got out because he explicitly activated the clause; I have no love for Bayern but they actually didn't even want to close the deal until after the CL game, they then had to confirm it after Götze forced everyone's hand. Not sure what the point is of bringing up if it was during the semi final or a couple days later either.

And that's not even looking at the constant talk of how he doesn't want to leave Dortmund at all (even after the clause was made public) and the rivalry and competition between the two clubs. There's a reason most German football fans can't stand the little shit even though he scored the WC winning goal. He's Germany's version of RVP, even worse now that he's failed at Bayern he's been pushing for a move back to Dortmund for a couple months now.

Ilkay Gundogan has signed a 5-year deal with City. Clubs have yet to agree a fee, but a figure of £24m is being discussed. [Bild]

He only has a year left IIRC. Same figure rumored for Xhaka as well.

One year left, injury prone, fat, already been replaced by Weigl. Good deal for Dortmund.

He's not fat anymore and he was only when he a really serious back injury.

Gundogan-Toure

De Bruyne-Silva-Sterling

Agüero

Fuck.

Gundogan--Fernandinho

Silva---DeBruyne---Sterling

-------Aguero

I believe Yaya will most likely move to a club for a final payday, perhaps Inter.

outside of de bruyne and a fit aguero, nothing mouth watering about that to me.

Toure is off or riding the bench next year

Silva has faded...not sure if that's down to injuries or age.

I can't see Pep signing just Gundogan for the front 6.

Sterling/Gundogan.

I think Pep will struggle with this Man city team, needs a complete overhaul.
