his best role looks like as a #10. he doesnt put in the work to be a true box to box guy, hes certainly not a defensive midfielder, but his size allows him to hold the ball, he does have great technique, he can shoot, and he can pick a pass. but will that portuguese shitdongle play him as a 10? he typically discards guys who dont become defensive mules, and that doesnt seem like pogba's game. this signing feels political more than anything, something to show the world that united will rival the two spanish clubs and pay whatever they want for whoever they want.

i can see him being gone again in 2 years.

Pogba's 'problem' is that people view him as a midfielder, but he's the guy who likes playing between the lines. His game is about the superior touch, movement, the waist-high shot from nowhere that wins you a game.

He can't control a game for toffee and he doesn't defend, but he's the kind of player who turns up in the very small moments during which foootball games are being won. That's what they are paying a supreme fee for.

Yeah, it's pretty incredible. The dated elements in it just adds to its general weirdness nowadays too.

Pogba will fit into the current epl landscape perfectly. Overhyped and overbranded, but capable of making the highlight reel every matchday. Overall its a good signing for them, and should reinvigorate their brand which was in danger of sliding

Pogba doubters will be surprised. He's a superhuman player. Do not forget that we are talking about a 22 year old central mid. He's far from his peak. His combination of deadeye passing from various ranges and power make him a hard assignment for any defender. He will not fulfill United's biggest need, which is a true DM or developed box to box, but will be a terror. Think a more consistent Yaya with really good passing. Not sure how Wenger missed this player going to United the first time and when he left for Juve. Ozil, Pogba, Xhaka would be untouchable

Pogba is 23 and I don't think he's anything like Toure at all. Nothing alike. Yaya's passing is in a different league for a start - in no universe is Pogba's passing better. He doesn't have anything like the same power or athleticism either. Toure, at his best, could control a game with his passing and then tear teams apart with his power.

He's a good player, but I'd say his best position is wide left cutting in or as a second striker that is given the freedom to do as he wants without needing to run the attack or score lots of goals. Klaus is right in that he can do the extraordinary from time to time, but his overall game is weak in a lot of areas. He's a luxury player. If he wasn't so lazy and had any semblance of a competitive streak in him he could have been a dominant midfielder, but he doesn't and he's not.

Your assessment of him is all wrong. A more consistent Yaya with really good passing? Not buying that. His passing is nothing special, needs far too long time to pick a good pass. Doesn't do it effortlessly like genuine good passers. He has skills over Yaya, and that's about it, mostly pointless ones too. If he reaches anywhere the level of peak Yaya, he'd well.

I'd say he's very similiar to Ramsey, albeit a little more skillful. Both can't control a match with passing, and both get found out when it gets crowded and there's little space to operate on, espcially when it comes to short passing.

I'm not fearing his arrival one bit. At this point, he's still all hype as we saw at the Euros, where he looked like a Ballerina on a football field.

I thought he'd use him as a bit of Lampard for United but any of their fans I've talked to think he will play deep. I hope so because he's not half as good when played deep.

You're wrong. There's a reason United are spending over £90m on this guy. They recognize the quality. To be honest, with Mata on board, what they really needed was Sissokho, Kante or Diarra. But they looked beyond positional need and went for a galactico, which is a move I would get behind if I were a United fan

I do think people get too wrapped up in price. Bale and Neymar produced similar response when they moved for eye-watering amounts. Those transfers have been awesome in the final analysis.

United are paying £100m for him because he's a star name, one of the biggest names around at the moment, but he's not one of the best players. Not sure many would argue he is.

he's nowhere near peak yaya mate, he'd do well match that level

Superhuman is such an exaggeration. He has the ingredients to be a supreme footballer though. His acquisition alone isn't scary at all but to have Ibrahimovic leading the attack with Pogba behind and Martial on one side is some proposition. Between them, they have it all - skill, pace, power, athleticism, awareness, goals.

My main fear is Ibrahimovic. He is a big game player. If Mourinho goes all negative and parks the bus in tight games, ibra will more often than not come up with the winner like he did yesterday. I can see him easily getting 20 goals this season. That along with a solid midfield and a Mou coached defense should get them easily into the top 4.

I expect him to pop up with moments of brilliance every once in a while, not as often as van Persie in 12/13 when he bailed United out on numerous occasions.

This is Mourinho we're talking about. Mata came on as a sub yesterday and was substituted.

He'll be out of the club before September.
