I didn't realise his contraxt expires in 2017. This is way too good an opportunity to pass up on.

Low said he is shocked by Gotze's condition currently, as he hasn't played for a long time. Pretty sure Bayern wants to let him go.

100% should be on Gotze for 140k per week at a fee of around £20m.

Can play LW as well as AM, and will be one of the stars in our team. Could possibly entice someone like Ozil to sign on for the future, but if not and he goes, Gotze is a talent and could fill the #10 role, not quite as well as Ozil, but could do a good job.

Wenger tried to sign him before although our £30m offer was rejected by Dortmund.

Could just be nostalgia speaking, but he was superb when he was with Dortmund.

Him and Reus were so great to watch, especially together. Absolutely superb free flowing slick football.

Arda Turan just had a huge dig at us. Similarly, Griezmann responded to the Arsenal rumours last week that he is at one of the top 5 clubs in Europe and isn't looking for a downgrade.

It's time to either overpay on players or accept that we need to get top players from smaller clubs.

Don't think that was a real jibe by Turan, hardly a surprise that we're second choice when the other team is Barcelona.

Greizmann wasn't asked about Arsenal but going to a bigger club in general.

Turan actually sort of complimented us by suggesting playing well could have got him a move to Arsenal. It indicates that he views Arsenal is a bigger draw than Atletico Madrid for him.

Are you sure Klaus? Many reports of 12m per season when Mario moved to Bayern.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was wrong. Maybe there was some kind of sign-on bonus involved and some bonus structures, but the quoted fee back then would have made him earn almost twice as much as guys like Robben and Ribery. I don't think anyone in Bundesliga has ever earned that much.

Not sure about that Klaus, Götze was widely believed to have become one of Bayern's top earners immediately after signing for them, it was a big debate in Germany and people were heavily speculating that it also lead to Kroos eventually leaving for Real. That list at the top of the page seems too low overall in my opinion for a wagebill of a club like Bayern.

Then again it's footballer wages and it's almost all baseless speculation. One of the few players where you can be 100% about their wages is Benatia, someone took a picture of his salary statement and sent it via WhatsApp to virtually everyone who has a phone in Germany. Given that he's on around 6m I don't think Götze would be earning only slightly more than that, especially given that he was one of the top earners at Dortmund already.

That's how I remember it. All speculation of course and surely a few financial wizzkids are involved to massage the figures.

Or it's all absolute nonsense. Who knows.

KANTE UNCLEAR ON LEICESTER FUTURE

N'Golo Kante is refusing to commit his long-term future to Leicester City less than a year after joining the club.

When asked if he would be at Leicester next season, Kante, who scored his first international goal on his first start for France last night, told Sky Sports News HQ:"I will fight for Leicester this season and next season we never know and we will see.

"At this moment I am focused on Leicester. We have to finish well this season but I don't mind about [being linked with] the other clubs."

Telegraph says City on the verge of signing Ter Stegen. Not sure where that came from but it would make sense. Pep always wants a keeper who can play out from the back accurately and Ter Stegen is the best out there.

Really interesting to see how he shapes the City squad. Gundogan is reportedly also closing on the move.

Getting rid of Hart doesn't make much sense if part of the issue at Man City is that player's are money hungry mercenaries
