Oh FFS not this argument again.

Bottom line is that we have about striker who averages about 14-15 league goals and nothing else and no other recognized forward.

If a Suarez/Lewandowski/Aguero isn't available then go for a HIguain.

If a Higuain isn't available go for Lacazette or whoever.

Because there are practically zillions of other options then playing Walcott or whoever else upfront which is the alternative.

If a club like Palace or WEst Ham can bid 35-40m for a forward and Liverpool can pony up that much for Mane then that's not big money in todays market anymore.

Higuain. Would cost an arm and a leg (or about 60 Michu arms and legs, to be more specific) but we'd win the league.

I'm not sure on higgy, he'd do well no doubt but I can see him bing burnt out by christmas time.

Older strikers that come to the prem usually really struggle we've seen lots of examples of that. The strikers that have really blossomed in the league have come to the prem young. I can't think of a single fat older striker that's come to the league and tore things up.

And he'd be playing on a team that has Giroud coming off the bench as well.
Fear of fatigue is definitely NOT a reason to advance for not buying Higuain

Aubameyang, Morata, Higuain, Lukaku. Just buy someone. They don't need to tear up the league, they need to score us some goals to win games. We've always got Giroud to step in fresh as a daisy if it isn't working out. Right now, we've got no options at all.

Benzema - super talented, but unfortunately lacks a lot in department of being a decent human being.
Aubameyang - best possible option for us, unfortunately we seem reluctant of paying what is needed to get him.

As Coombs and Marv have shown, options are numerous. We have no excuse not to buy a player. This in a summer when Ibra will move, and perhaps Costa and Lewandowski will also move. There's enough food for everyone to eat.

Yeah, 38m for him might be a better deal than 60m for Lukaku.

Every signing have their own downside, but what matters is we try to upgrade on Giroud first. It's okay if we tried hard and the signing doesn't work out for us, but it's not okay to not even try.

We keep looking for that upgrade and it never comes and neither does an a competitive option.

We definitely challenge Leicester up until the last matchday with another center forward to rotate Giroud with. We have to sign someone.

Yeah I agree that there's a risk, but there always is. Morata might not develop like we want, Higuain might not adapt, Ronaldo could potentially break a leg... transfer business is risk assessment. I've watched Higuain for a while and I think it's a lot more likely he'll give us 80-90 goals over the next three seasons than doing a Shevchenko.

We don't have a lot of options, so the question is whether we do something and risk getting it wrong, or do nothing and completely rule out the possibility of getting it right.
