I haven't seen him in the last couple of months, but judging from that footage he has bulked up a fair bit. I find that promising. His scrawny physique was his only real weakness at the start of the season.

Does Sanches remind you of Willian?

Not really.. Willian is a traditional winger in comparison, Sanches is a CM that's pretty unique in style. If I had to pick a player to compare him to I'd probably pick Wilshere in that his strength is also going past players in midfield. That's virtually already where the comparison ends though, Wilshere is streets ahead in technique while Sanches is on another level as an athlete. Maybe Diaby (on his good days) would be a better comparison, they both seem to eat the pitch up with their strides, both hardly get muscled off the ball.

He's very talented but another one of those players whose skillset doesn't help him despite all the talent in the world. He keeps the ball for too long and it's by design basically as he's better with the ball to his feet than in his passing, not a fan of this type of centre midfielders.

sounds like anderson mk 2. obviously he turned out like s**t but he was an exciting prospect at one point

Sounds a bit like Ramires to me.

Ramires is more of a work horse, Sanches is a footballer.

Anderson isn't a very good comparison either imo since he was an attacking midfielder for Porto, it wasn't until Fungus got his hands on him that he was used in CM (when he was mostly shit unlike Sanches). Still one of his biggest fuckups ever, almost as bad as letting Pogba go for free. Anderson looked a huge talent prior to his move, his getting fat is of course his own fault but I'm certain he could've been big for better handling

Some players just don't have the motivation, Anderson looks like one to me. Once he made it United he gave up. He had plenty of chances there, plenty of players have made it under Fergie after being brought in young. Can't really see how it was anyone elses fault how he ended up.

I think there's a lot of sense in that, qs.

Anderson reminded me a bit of Salomon Kalou, who was another guy who came to England with a big reputation. Having never watched either of them at Porto and Feyenoord it was downright impossible to see why they were highly rated. They were both horseshit footballers from the moment they stepped onto a Premier League pitch until the day when they finally upped and left.

Yeah, he was definitely the closest thing to Ronaldinho around. Was very quick off the mark similar to Ronaldinho, most just remember him because of his skills on the ball but he was quite the athlete as well.

Qs has a point in that he was definitely at fault himself as well but it's not the first time Fungus didn't know how to handle a Brazilian, not too long before the Anderson transfer he ruined Kleberson's career as well by using him completely wrong

Sanches is a midfield, goes box to box but he's better defensively. Some will liken him to Yaya but it's far from the case, he has excellent ball retention but he's not a controller and not exactly creative. He'll just go up and down and do the simple things well.
