Rumours from WHU that Carl Jenkinsons loan deal has been terminated!

Too bad he's out injured for 6 months though.

From a promising CL knockout appearance vs Bayern to a team battling relegation in the 2nd tier of English football, how the mighty have fallen.

Hopefully he gets some game time.

Most likely why it was terminated.

Wenger has already confirmed Jenkinson is back and will do his rehab here. Whether the loan is terminated or not doesn't really matter since he won't be playing anymore this season.

Hope Yaya does enough to con Charlton into trying to make the move permanent. Somehow, when it comes to Yaya, I doubt even that will happen.

What is the criteria nowdays for a PL medal?

Don't know, but hopefully Joel Campbell doesn't qualify. Otherwise, I'm rooting for City.

😆

If its 1 appearance we gotta hope Shad performs a miracle on Jenks.

It's completely arbitrary. Clubs get 40 medals to distribute as they see fit. Most of them will obviously go to players who have fulfilled the criteria of 5 appearances, plus the manager and the backroom staff, but technically Jenkinson could get one without even making the bench for us.

I hope he does get a medal. Then we can sell him and not feel guilty.

Thought you had to play 10 games (remember Keown having to get on late in the last game in 03-04 to get one) or has that been changed? That's probably the last time I took any note of the rule!

Yaya will surprise you!

Yeah, I thought the same thing because of that exact incident, but the rules have apparently changed. It's the same in Champions League nowadays, medals are distributed among players and staff at the club's discretion. You're entitled to one if you've played a minimum of 5 games in PL, but you can get one anyway if the club decides to give you one of the 40 they receive.

Yeah, the rule as I remembered it was 10 appearances for a medal because of the Keown thing and all sub keepers get one regardless of the 10 appearances. Guess it's better this way, allowing the club to decide.

Yeah, the 10 appearance rule was dumb, glad they scrapped it.

Think the rule had some merit to be fair. For instance, if we win, why should a bloke like Debuchy get a medal? The man has contributed almost nothing. One could argue that the 10 game rule sort of took the players who just made up the numbers out of the equation.

Did Debuchy end up going to Bordeaux?

Yes. We turned down an offer from United.
