Wow. This is pretty much a done deal then!
I guess I'll now obsessively pour over all his Youtube compilations

Cant wait for him to turn up at Anfield and boss the shitty Liverpool midfield.

We'll get a Debuchy replacement. Other than that, I can't see us making any more signings.

Doubt it, est. We will go with Chambers as cover for RB until Jenko returns in the summer.
If Chambers continues in midfield, it would be an extremely risky strategy.
Flamini can play right back too.

Could we bring Jenkinson back early?
I'm dead curious about Mo now.
No, i doubt we could. Season long loans usually do not have a call-back option included imo.
Unrelated, I really hope we recall Gnabry. Tony Pubis hasnt given him much opportunities this season.
Bamfield is going back to Chelsea from Palace so it is not impossible to bring back Jenkinson from his loan. But I guess iit must be agreed by all parties.
Yeah, if both parties agree then its of course possible. But i doubt West Ham would want to let him go.
Apparently they are getting a new right back this jan so they may send Jenko back to us.

They usually do, but not in this case since West Ham are paying us to loan him. We could still recall him if they agree to it though. Which they very well might, considering he's lost his place there.
Personally I feel we should have sold him in the summer when his stock was high.
The following explanation is from the excellent Daniel Geey football law website and details the first appeals hurdle.
The value of the transfer fee being paid for the player is in the top 25% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 3 points
The value of the transfer fee being paid for the player is between the 50th and 75th% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 2 points

The player’s current club is in a Top League and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
The player’s current club has played in the group stages or onwards of the Champions League, Europa League or the Copa Libertadores within the last 12 months and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
Elneny is unlikely to pick up points for his domestic football with FC Basel, because only the top 6 European leagues are counted. Due to a relatively low transfer fee, and assuming Elneny isn't set to become one of Arsenal's better paid players, the midfielder may struggle to pick up the 4 points required at initial appeal status.
It would be typical us if this dude doesn't get a work permit
[video=vimeo]
Those are the dumbest requirements for a work permit I've ever seen.
What about a special talent visa?
Gotta keep out the immigrants, innit.
If West Ham is getting a new RB, i would love to have Jenko back. He'd come in and be all like ... "WTF Ox, did you find a new mate while i was gone (Calum)"? Well, now that im back we're gonna have some top banter here, lads.
Sounds like he has a good attitude.
Likes to think his running encourages others.
that points system
who thunk that up?
Wasn't it 75% of Internationals played or more than 10m? That shit I read must be a load of nonsense.
I think it used to be 75% of Internationals played for a top 50 ranked team, which Egypt is not part of. I thought it was changed to 10mil granting work permit as well, but I guess the new rules are slightly more confusing than that.

Do they still hand out special talent visa? I thought the point of the new rules was to get rid of all the vague criteria and make it a simple black and white process.
Bizarre criteria. I guess we should sign some clogger like Tom Cleverly for three times the amount and no potential upside.
What I wanna know is does Mo walk like an Egyptian?

Cannot judge as highlight reels are misleading but am i wrong in thinking he looks a bit lightweight for the dm position in the premiership?
My google-fu tells me that he is taller and heavier than makelele and kante who both seem to have managed (kante less so).
Coquelin is also small but plays like a beast.
My inner-chi is unable to tell if this guy is the same.
That Fiorentina A performance is pretty encouraging.
yep. looks tigerish, sound technically, pacy, and willing to play a forward pass. not bad for 7-8m and 23 years old

Hm, if you listed all the transfers to Premier League clubs, surely Elneny would be among the 25% of most expensive? Think of all the small transfers. To me it seems like he would get four points. Still fucked up that a full international who is one of the best players on a regular Champions League team may struggle to get a work permit.
Any news on his pending arrival?
Doubt paperwork had progressed over the New Year weekend
Basel have sign midfielder Alexander Fransson from Norrköping. They have signed a replacement already...
Its done, im sure.
Where is he?
Waiting for Rabiot
We're buying Rabiot as well?
Holidays innit? Monday tomorrow and I reckon he'll be here no later than Tuesday.
