Campbell did okay when he was in the team. He's nearly 24 though and not anywhere close to being starter quality.

Makes more sense to play iwobi. I'd sell both Campell and Ox this summer. Maybe Theo too.

Iwobi is on a wholly different level as a player. That's how a talent introduces himself in the side. I was sceptical of Alex when there wasn't much evidence to go on but the kid is incredible. He just went in there and took on the challenge. That's how real players do it. They take their chances and never look back. No running out of breath after 20 minutes or working hard in defence because they don't have the stamina to get up and down the field.

Wenger is responsible for the mess that is this season, but you can't fault him for not playing Joel bloody Campbell when we have real options.

I would give Campbell's minutes to Wellington next season.

Wenger clearly doesn't rate Campbell. I disagree he has been anywhere near as poor as Chambo or Walcott have been though. All in all he has been decent enough, and we have generally played better with him in there over those other two. Doesn't matter though, because Wenger clearly favors those other two over him.

I would loan Chambo out to West Ham, he can join Jenkinson there too.

Wenger is senile. It's pretty clear he doesn't rate Joel for some reason or another. Theo did fuck all when he came on yesterday, Joel would have created a few good chances.

That said, I read that Joel had a knock in training on friday so in this instance it's pointless.

I would like to see a front 4 of Ozil, Iwobi, Joel and Sanchez before the season ends, with Sanchez at CF.

Jenkinson was even before his injury on the bench at West Ham.

And Chamberlain has 2 years left on his deal.

Don't want some loan so that he can be sold on some cut price fee with 1 year left nor the pay demands of a new contract which he doesn't deserve now.

He'll be sold at a cut price regardless of how much longer he has on his contract. Wenger doesn't want the club's demands to be a stumbling block when his players want to leave. Podolski was sold for 1m and now Galatasaray are considering offers from Canada and China for around 10m.

Campbell deserves a lot better than the way Wenger has done him. Walcott Ramsey and Ox get chances as soon as they're fit, Campbell gets dropped as soon as Wenger gets the chance. It's obvious he's playing favourites, probably because the former three are big or expensive projects that will reflect badly on him if they fail whereas Campbell is a nobody bought for 1m five years ago.

Yep, Wenger really cannot see anything beyond his own gratification as a managerial overlord. What's best for the team is irrelevant.

If that was true he'd start Walcott ahead of Iwobi right now and Giroud would still be in the team. The simpler explanation is that Campbell just ain't that good.

The simpler explanation would be true maybe in another manager's case. We can't say Campbell is shit because Wenger doesn't trust him when the same man trusted Flamini over Elneny for two months. There's also a very pragmatic reason he shouldn't have been dropped, Ramsey is just now back from injury and is thrown back into the mix. Campbell gets a couple minutes off the bench gets an assist and is dropped, Ramsey is out for a month has been well shit before and immediately back in contention, if that's not playing favourites I don't know what is

Also Klaus didn't you say after the Liverpool game that you would stop being so overly critical of Campbell? 😆

If Campbell isn't good, then he must be an average player that more often than not plays well.

I said Wenger thinks he's a bit shit (which he is). If Wenger were more concerned about the players he had invested massive amounts of time in already they would be playing ahead of Iwobi right now. Campbell isn't playing for the same reason he barely played last season: Wenger doesn't really rate him as a wide player, and can't justify using him as a striker in a 4-3-3.

Nope. Iwobi is a Wenger product. He takes full credit for him. Campbell is an outsider in Wenger world.

That's so stupid. The argument was that he had invested massively in Walcott and Chamberlain and that's why they're playing. He had nothing invested in Iwobi. No one expected him to play a single minute this season.

And I'm saying that Wenger's playing favorites has little to do with any investment other than his own ego. You threw Iwobi into the mix, but his starting the game doesn't really have much to do with whether Theo or Joel comes off the bench.
