Wenger was talking about potentially moving Santi wide and playing Flamini in the middle. He can't be serious surely? Especially after then going on to make glowing comments about Campbell and his work ethic on and off the pitch. He mentioned we need Santi in the middle too so hopefully he's not really contemplating that.

Wenger said he'd create one more problem if he moved Santi to the left, so I don't think he'll do it.

I'm going for Campbell getting that starting spot there.

That's what I'm sure he'll go with. The rest was a bit of a smoke screen, IMO. Theo and Giroud was a close call anyway, and it seemed to be tilting
G's way in the last days anyhow; and Joel for Ox is like for like (even if most agree Ox is a better player). I don't see the big headache there.
No real options on the bench - that's a worry though.

Iwobi wasn't very good the other day, but he looked quite good in the Emirates Cup when surrounded by better players. Campbell is sure to start tomorrow though, so let's see how he does. I wouldn't rule out trying Iwobi if Campbell stinks the place up though.

For the Bayern game midweek I think Wenger will go with Gibbs for the added defensive protection. With Giroud leading the line from the start, I'd say our best chance in that game is to try to defend for our lives and hope for a 0-0. Possibly a set piece goal.

Would go with Alexis up front against Bayern, Gibbs on the left and Özil on the right. You can't counter with Giroud.

We countered on both United and Bayern with Giroud on the pitch. You just need the players behind him to move up quickly to support.

Gibbs looked even worse that Campbell....it would be absurd to move Alexis to RW to accommodate Gibbs playing LWF.

Not sure why people are so down on Gibbs. Seems to be de rigueur at the moment but he's still a pretty decent player. He was far from our biggest problem against Wednesday and he's been solid when he's come on to do a job on the wing late in games recently.

I'd still rather have Giroud in my front 3 than our second choice left back though.

Giroud has to start, I can't see the need for rearranging the whole team just because Joel's not that great, Chamberlain's been far from what we wanted from him so I don't think chancing Joel will harm us too badly for this.

Giroud and Joel will make do against Swansea, but our forward line really can't look like that against Bayern. Giroud is included by default so that makes Joel the odd man out. Wenger needs to get creative for that game.
