Charlie Adam kicked Pedro on the half-hour but avoided a yellow card. Again shades of our game here 11 days ago.

The first major incident of the second half was a forearm smash into the jumping Nemanja Matic from guess who? Charlie Adam; with guess what outcome? Words from the ref but no yellow card.

Ryan Shawcross was cautioned for sticking his arm into the throat of Diego Costa but Arnautovic escaped for barging into the back of Willian, who had suffered no lasting damage from his earlier slip.

Yet again there was a tremendous show of support for the team and our manager from the travelling support as the players left the pitch, but there is now a two-week wait for an opportunity to improve our results as the international calendar intervenes.

I get almost as much joy out of Moron's misery right now as I get from us winning routine games. Special games like the Bayern game is no contest, and when we have won the FA cup these past two seasons go in the no contest category as well. I may have exaggerated a little bit. 🙂

I notice Mourinho hasn't been sacked yet despite the articles claiming they were waiting until after the Stoke match.

If he survives the international break it'll be a renewed commitment.

I don't think Roman can afford to sack him (and I'm not speaking economically). He's going back to the Chelsea Pitch Owners to ask them to sell back the freehold to the club, and he needs to be on their good side. The CPO are almost exclusively hardcore fans, and almost all of them support Mourinho way more than they support Abramovich.

I suspect this is the main reason Jose still has a job. Forget about Chelsea "supporting the manager who won them the league". It didn't stop them from sacking a better coach in Ancelotti and it wouldn't have stopped them now. Mourinho is just a pawn in a bigger game.
