Because ManU are still unbeaten, and are above us in the League, with a game in hand.

That was the best ManU have got out there today, both in terms of their team and squad, everyone was available, and they were mediocre at best. I'm waiting for Tony to turn up and tell me ManU played like champions. 🙂

We really must get our act together rand win this League.

And again totally agree Rick, Man U will always be more of a threat than Spurs..

As much as we criticize them for looking awful, they're ahead of us. What does that say about the Arse? That we look good in spurts but can't do better than a team that always looks poor?

That's exactly what it says so far. Hopefully it'll change during the second half of the season though.

Forget about Palacios, Crouch was abysmal today. Wasn't even dominating in the air.

Good enough result, I suppose.

Decent result for us. Someone mentioned that Man United has a difficult schedule up ahead-- I beg to differ. Birmingham at home should be three points, and I reckon they should be able to take care of blackpool and villa. The only banana skins I see them facing in the next month is either wolves or man city.

Manchester United v Birmingham
Blackpool v Manchester United
Manchester United v Aston Villa
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Manchester United
Manchester United v Manchester City
Wigan Athletic v Manchester United
Chelsea v Manchester United
Liverpool v Manchester United

That doesn't look easy to me. 5 away games and at least 3 games that look tough on paper.

Arsenal v Wigan Athletic
Arsenal v Everton
Newcastle United v Arsenal
Arsenal v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Arsenal v Stoke City
Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal
Arsenal v Sunderland
West Bromwich Albion v Arsenal

We on the other hand have 5 home games with Tottenham the only one that really looks tough.

If we don't gain at least another 3 points on them in this period then I'll be very dissapointed.

Hahaha!

No I genuinely think United were the second best team on that pitch today.

Vidic was immense however.

Rooney was very poor today as was Nani.

Garth Crooks' team of the week has Gael Clichy and Theo Walcott in central midfield 😆

Yep, Vidic ate Crouch for breakfast. Very good performance from a very good player. Although it must be said that's his meat and drink, he'll deal with balls into the box all day long, whenever he gets taken out of the box or isolated one-on-one he struggles. Gave away two or three really stupid free-kicks today in those types of situations, but unfortunately Spurs weren't good enough to take him out of his comfort zone, often enough.

Spurs just looked a side who, although they have quality, just don't have that top class quality. Someone to really step up and make something happen in a game like today.

Ibrahimovic just scored the goal of the weekend against Lecce. Absolute quality.

Have to say, from watching the Midlands Derby this morning, David Bentley's a good bit of business for Birmingham.

They need a quality striker, which is why I'd be delighted if they spend a shit load on Carrol.

It's probably the best sp*rs side I've ever seen, actually...they had a pretty good one with Waddle and Hoddle, but generally they've been a one or 2 player side {Allen, Ardlies, Gazza, Linekar,Sol, Berbatov}...but I think {and hope} today is just about the best they could be...they are still lacking 2 or 3 players in their first 11 that would make them true contenders imo.

Luckily for us I think this season is their only chance to move up with the "big boys" properly for a while...if they miss out i think they'll fall away like Villa did, as they have players past their best {Woodgate, King, Gallas] others that will always be hit or miss {Huddlestone, Palacious, Gomes, Pav} and some that are, well, shit {Jenas, assou-wats his name,}...'arry the twitch has done a very good job in installing confidence in them, but I believe, much as they've played well, they've over achieved. if they finish 5th, which i think they will, i think Modric and Bale could be off.

...and then they move to stratford.😆

Yeah, I'd agree they're probably as good as I've seen them. Although their 2006 team that we just pipped to 4th was not far off. Really not all that much in it.

You'd have to think qualifying for the Champions League will decide whether or not they keep Bale and Modric. With their new stadium (wherever it is?) they won't turn down good money, and those players won't want to stay either if they're not playing Champions League football.

I've got to admit though, they've reached a point where if you could put 2 or 3 world class players in their team, they'd be a really, really good team.
