I pity any manager having to come in and deal with that lot, they'll be expecting more of the same ie minumum net spend and a CL place.

That's why for me the next manager needs to be resourceful, clever and charismatic, capable of creating conditions that inspire our players.

We spent £35m in each of the two seasons before this one. And we have a massive tv deal coming that should increase our local TV money from £97m to around £160m. Going forward, £60-70m will actually not even be in line with what we spent in those two seasons we brought in Ozil and Sanchez. Anything less would completely reverse progress.

Please add Koeman to the title. I've warmed up to him. He's doing such a good job with a team under constant upheaval.

Tactics

I'm not too sure about Klopp anymore (always thought he was the ideal manager to take us forward).

His coaching methods look 1 dimensional in his last season ie all about high pressing and quick transitions, very little variation on how they attacked. Plus, I'm not sure that heavy pressing is sustainable throughout the season in a league as demanding as the PL.

I prefer Ancelotti to him. But again, Ancelloti has got dodgy record in the league despite winning it in England and France. Top quality cup manager though.

I massively rate Koeman and he would really annoy LVG.

But I'd give Bouldie a season first.

Luis Enrique coached Barcelona to a treble. Your mancrush Diego Simeone got Athletico one too. You never know who's got it in them, so I don't think it's right to be so casually dismissive.

I would have no problems with Bouldie taking charge, but he has to at least have shown the ability to perform with our youth team set up - which he has not... And I fear he's been infected by the Weng by now.

what does that have to do with bould? simeone had multiple stops and got fired multiple times before he found success at atletico and it's the atletico simeone that i have a mancrush on. so even if bould is 2006 simeone at racing club, i wouldn't have wanted arsenal subjected to simeone's growing pains. so yes hire bould in 2015 on the off chance that he turns into the best manager in the world 7 years later. sort out your growing pains elsewhere.

anyway chelsea is supposedly trying to line him up to replace mourinho. his release clause is 15m. we need to be on that.

I'll kill something if Chelsea get Simeone. Don't think he'd want to come to England but then I also didn't think Guardiola would manage in the Bundesliga.

From what I can tell, Bouldie did well with the under 18 team. Still wouldn't want him to succeed Wenger though, although I think it is far from unlikely.

I wouldn't mind giving him a shot at the senior side sometime when Wenger has a stroke/ chokes on a muffin / croaks.

Bould would probably be a terrible choice. His match day tactics are unknown and which players would want to play for Steve Bould? A big name manager attracts big name players.

I don't think you need a big name manager but you need someone who can convince big name players to join. Would we have been able to sign Ozil or Sanchez with Bould in charge? I'm not sure.
