I think the issue is that whilst Allegri may be the most experienced & successful of the current candidates, he's also probably the least aligned to AW's philosophy & style. Whilst Tuchel, Howe, Nagelsmann are all considered to be of similar ideas and style, none have as much experience at either a BIG club or in the CL.
Roger Schmidt seems like an interesting Dark Horse option.
