Doesn't Allegri put out a 4231 these days as well? Club might see it as some continuity of style.

I think the issue is that whilst Allegri may be the most experienced & successful of the current candidates, he's also probably the least aligned to AW's philosophy & style. Whilst Tuchel, Howe, Nagelsmann are all considered to be of similar ideas and style, none have as much experience at either a BIG club or in the CL.

Roger Schmidt seems like an interesting Dark Horse option.

Not interested in betting on a dark horse. If we aim to be a mega club post Wenger, we need to get big name earthing - players, managers, sponsors, DoFs, the lot. The period following 20 years of Wenger is not the time to be gambling. We could midtable this time next year and looking nostalgically upon our recent top 4 pursuits

Don't get me wrong I'm not advocating for a Dark Horse selection,
just that I find him an interesting 'half way' / compromise option between the likes of Allegri (who would be quite independent based on his experience), to the young unproven potential of the likes of Howe / Naigelsmann (whom the club would likely want a mentor as DoF).

I would love Enrique here. One of my favourite footballers when he was still active and he's one of my favourite managers too.

He fits closer to the way we play than anyone we've been linked with. And he's more a coach than just a manager he'll develop players. Which we need to keep up with team who can buy more better players than us.

We don't NEED someone like that but that transition has less potential to implode.

Chelsea style fits conte like a glove. And Liverpool's style fits klopp really well.

do they, really? it has taken him a season and a half to get them to play anything like what he wants, and even with that, they have been pretty inconsistent.

They looked solid straight away ( that was my point). And they have the best or second best record against the top six which is pretty amazying.

They havent got the squad to challenge or the money to buy a title winning team. Klopp still has shit defenders and doesn't have a striker he really trusts. And he's developing loads of players for them. He's doing a feaking great job.

I'm taking about him being a good fit for the identity off the club. Not a magic fit that can make that dross win a title straight away.
