Well done West Ham, but Birmingham are still favourites to go through. West Ham scored with their only attack of the second half, and it owed a lot to the incompetence of Ben Foster. Hilarious cock-up from the former Manc scum.
Looking at the the game, I'd much prefer West Ham in the final. Birmingham were awful in the first half, but second half they really battered West Ham. Even if the Hammers were down to 10-men after Victor Obina had been sent off for kicking Seb Larsson in the nuts! There really is no question who would make for the tougher final.
Second leg should be interesting, but I'd put my money on Birmingham. I was going to say Avram Grant has a history of unlikely semi-final wins, but by all accounts, he is very unlikely to still be West Ham's manager in a fortnight's time.
Also, I watched him closely tonight, and I still don't really get the Scotty Parker love? Sure he's a decent player, but there's just little special about him.
