Agree with that.
I don't get the recent criticism Ramsey has been getting and think his lay-off will cost us big time.
He is an important supporting midfielder as we have a striker, Alexis, playing on the other flank and he links up very well with Ozil.
Ox has already been responsible for a couple of cheap give-aways in dangerous areas this season so i worry about the second leg in Germany. I think it would be safer to play Gibbs as cover for Monreal and switching Alexis to the right with the Ox coming from the bench.

We be weakening one of our real strengths if we played Gibbs in Monreal's position.
Give Chamberlain a chance to find his feet, and if he doesn't, play Theo on the right with Giroud up top.

Gibbs is nowhere near good enough to play in that position.

Thought he did okay in that cameo role on Tuesday or we could use Arteta as the extra midfielder in a 4-5-1 formation?
My problem with this is i know Arteta cannot run and Guardiola is going to get Lahm and Bernat to double up on our fullbacks.
Alexis will force one of them to stay back but i think the other flank needs someone better, defensively, than Oxlade.

Chamberlain hasn't been up to scratch so far this season, but this is still the same player who has wowed at a much younger age in the past. He's at the right age to start kicking on a bit more, for example it wasn't until 21-22 that Bale started looking like an actual proper footballer as opposed to just some two-bob player who could only hit free kicks. For Ox to progress he does need to play a bit more than he has in recent weeks

He has a couple of months to show something while Wilshere, Ramsey and Welbeck are out, otherwise he'll be a permanent benchy for this season and will only get a chance in the CoC.

Yeah pretty much. Ox has to be given the games now or else we might as well move him on. If he can't provide anything then Joel can have a shot at it. By then hopefully Ramsey or Wilshere will be back.

The only other option is play Theo wide and Giroud up front but that just denies us rotation options.

Completely agree. There's no excuses for Ox now. He's gonna get a run of games, he's fit, the team's playing well. He has to perform.

Theo won't go wide, he hasn't done for a couple of years now.

Ox should be given the chance but I want to see Campbell given minutes if it's not working. Find it wierd that he is not even on the bench recently when wenger has 4/5 defensive players on the bench... Gibbs in mifeild is 😆

Campbell definitely deserves a start for me, has done better than Ox this season with not even half his minutes. We'll never know if another player can pull a Coquelin if we never give them the chance to show their worth.

I don't expect Lewandowski to have another off day so i want us to park Chelsea's bus and defend with all we've got.
Every counter option we choose weakens our attack but i expect us to under the cosh most of the game.
With Ramsey out, we could bring Arteta in but i'm not sure he is up to this level of football anymore.
Bayern, i'm sure will overload whichever flank Alexis isn't on and as Ox cannot defend i could only think of Gibbs as cover for Monreal.
Sounds crazy but it's all about the mindset and since you are dismissing mine, tell me what is yours?
e: Nothing elaborate but something along the lines of Jones' post above would suffice.

I'm not sure how Campbell's performances in the limited minutes that he has played make a strong case for him to start ahead of Chamberlain.
Didn't leave any lasting impression on me.
I think we have got to give Chamberlain the time, I cold not write off a player at his stage on the basis of some patchy performances as a sub.

I'm not saying to write Chamberlain off, I'm saying he hasn't done anything to warrant a starting spot over Campbell at the moment. Ox certainly has left more of a lasting impression this season, unfortunately it's a poor one compared to Campbell who played around 90 minutes in two or three games and seemed to have created as many chances as Ox did all season. There's also a very pragmatic reason to play Campbell, he's much better defensively.
