I find myself having less and less hope that this lad will ever reach any sort of excellence. He's English and has been at the club for quite a few years so he's getting plenty of chances but he's clearly not taking them. Looks a million miles away from PL-winning club level and there are too many gaping holes in his abilities. Find it really hard to watch him at the moment and I find myself really looking forward to seeing him back on the bench where he belongs.

Think one top performance might see him come back into a spell of prolonged good form

Hard to see where the top performance comes from though, actually more like when because once Ozil and Sanchez are both back (hope next game), he'll be again back on the bench limited to this 20min cameo off the bench now Joel is ahead of him in the pecking order. Could do him well at the end of the day, he's more of an impact player anyway.

The most concerning thing about him is his lack of hunger to succeeed.

Almost everybody thought Campbell was done at Arsenal and didn't stand a chance of making it. He worked his ass off, and even after he started performing people were still joking about him as if he was a nobody. But he just wouldn't give up and has become a big asset for the team because even if he doesn't score a goal, he works so hard, wins the ball, protects his fullback...etc.

In contrast the Ox and Theo are so half-assed about everything they do. I can't stand it anymore.

Genuinely could not believe how many simple passes he messed up. Loan him out, he's only hurting us right now. Ozil must have been cringing at home.

That loan I was suggesting he needed a few months ago doesn't seem as preposterous now as it did then, does it? The guy just needs to sort himself out somewhere else. He's just hurting us too much these day but then again we haven't even got anyone to play these days so it's a shit situation we find ourselves in.

if he was french and not english, people would have wanted him gone long ago.

he had immense upside and potential when we bought him but he hasn't progressed at all. unfortunately he doesnt have a set position, his ball control and vision is poor, and his defensive work rate leaves a lot to be desired. you can find a lot of reasons or excuses for his lack of development, from being moved around a lot to his injuries and whatever else.

he either needs to put things together really fast or he needs to go out on loan next season or he needs to be sold. its not like we paid 50M for him and we're screwed, because hes english we will be able to recover some of the fee. there is no shame in not turning into a world class player, most dont, but he isn't even an above average player and he isnt 18 anymore. we're a massive club and we need players better than him consistently starting games for us

He had very interesting moments in the game where he showed his qualities and how he can get out of pressure, go past people and get into the final third. In the future it can be a very interesting position for him. I played him in a 4-3-3 today. Normally we play a 4-2-3-1 as players like to push forward and I think it is a position that suits him well.

He's right though. Loved the few times when Chambo just decided to go for it and ghosted past people when they tried to pressure him. Then he followed it up with a bunch of situations where he fucked up badly of course, but baby steps and all that.

Ox just has terrible concentration, its not technical. Hopefuly it gets better as he gets older.

Gerrard scored off the charts on the psychological concentration tests nobody who uses the same parameters/specialists has come close. Like 10x higher than some other players. ox is at the oppsite end of that scale.

Ox is an instinctive player, he doesn't seem to do well with the thinking side of the game. He's got the technical qualities to be a very good player (he can run fast, he can shoot, he can go by players, he CAN pass) but its the decisions that is going to limit him. I was hoping for a little bit more ascension in that department by now.

Have to say I'm really starting to worry about him. I actually thought he had a positive start to the game yesterday but it went to shit so quickly afterwards. His second half was just dire.

It's definitely something mental. It looks like he's thinking about something else at times during games off the ball. I reckon the sort of inconsistency we see from him on the ball can only be down to a lack of focus and care on execution, you could physically see it in his body shape for one of his misplaced passes.

Needs to be a bit more serious and get a winning mentality, i.e. focus on winning us games rather than pondering about how well he's playing or not playing. I sincerely hope he's putting in extra training.

This. When I watch him I see no technical or physical limitations.

The guy is 22 years old, those who revile him for his mistakes and inconsistency need to consider that the fact he has become a semi/regular in our team with the huge expectations that carries is totally Wengers fault.
