Hard to think pato would be a signing that would work out, he's unprofessional and always injured. Lacking a bit of commitment when he's far above the rest of the team in Brazil is one thing but in the prem having a striker who isn't going to fight all season is pointless.

Think Pato could be well motivated to try and revive his European career.

He's no longer injury prone and his 'attitude problems' have disappeared since he moved.

He isn't unprofessional at all.

We need two new centre mids

Definitely want one to be physically imposing and the other to have strong ability to move the ball progressively

Get Luiz Gustavo as the muscle and then Jorginho, Gundogan or Banega as the baller

You can stop dreaming right now as Wenger is talking shit. Again!

Has Biggus hacked your account?

Pato would be a poor punt, it would be like signing Theo if he lost his pace. Wouldn't be the worst signing, as he has decent technique and nous but he would be back-up level at best for us and doesn't have the potential to get better.

Hopefully Wenger was talking to Edu about Malcom. One of Corinthian's best players at 18, great pace and technique. Wouldn't be super expensive, only problem is he may have to be loaned out a la Campbell because I'm not certain he would qualify for a work permit.

Any fee over £10m gets the player an automatic work permit now.

Pato is still only 26, and he is comfortable all across the front 3 positions. He offers a legit goal threat too. He is the sort of squad player we should have instead of Joel Campbell IMO. That's how you upgrade the squad.

He missed a penalty last season that cost his team. Instead of going for the post match team talk he skipped out to get to a Beyonce concert on time. He might have found a bit of form but he is injury prone and unprofessional and it will probably all fall apart soon.

Just a quick check and he doesn't seem to have had a major injury since Dec 12 and has played over 95 games over the last two seasons.

Disagree. Best way to upgrade is to buy world class players or last least 1st XI competition and push others down. I've no idea how good Pato is any more, if with everyone fit he's someone with a chance of getting into the team then fine, but if he's just coming here to improve upon our current 6th choice right winger then it's a little pointless.

He'd compete for the starting XI

Talent is clearly there though the doubts are understandable

Pato has played across the front three in Brazil, but I'm not sure you'd be able to get away with him on the wings long term in the Prem. Maybe in the FA Cup or in the last twenty minutes when you're chasing a game

I'd wait until the summer to boost the frontline anyway. Benzema may be available for example, assuming a) he's convicted of blackmail b) Real appeal their transfer ban (assuming they actually get one as is currently mooted).

Question is, would Wenger want to buy in this scenario? He went for Suarez so he's not a complete moralist

Well, one concert in ten years as a professional is hardly worth a hanging.

Anyway, all of my points still stand. He got accused of being unprofessional at one club in his entire life, because of one solitary incident and as soon as he moved, nothing was ever heard about again.

And he isn't injury prone anymore; the proof is in the pudding.
