Looks like a big mofo, probably has a cheap buyout clause since he just move to Porto and more importantly he isn't represented by Mendes. Assuming all the talks about us sending scouts to Porto games are true, there could be something in this.

Actually according to wiki his release clause is 40mil Euros, so probably not after all.

mohamed elneny is a name that keeps popping up the last fee weeks. egyptian 23 year old dm, playing for basel. anyone know mich about him?

the little i could glean online suggests he's not a progressive passer and is more of a coquelin back up.

Can't see us signing two midfielders. This happens every year; we get linked with untold players in one position and we are lucky if one arrives.

BBC said that elneny needs a work permit, so for now I would consider any other links to simply be us looking at all options in case that one falls through.

We are getting either an RB or CB on top of El-Neny and that'll be it I suppose. Not the greatest of January windows that, but it'll do. Not sold on this Neny guy though, not sure if he is a dm or a b2b and he seemed pretty average from the comp vids I've seen. If Coq is out for most of the remainder of the season then we should aim high.

Forget Hernandez, he has already made a few sub appearances for Utd this season and a player can't play for three clubs in one season so that rules him out as a potential jan signing.

We desperately need a quality addition for a front line along with a competent central midfielder. We also shouldn't entertain letting Debuchy go in January; sell his ass in the summer, and I don't give a hoot about what that does to his chances of playing in the Euros.
