"Arsenal’s hopes of signing a first senior outfield player of the summer are fading on Monday night, despite another day spent exploring various options around the world.
"Paris Saint-Germain is understood to have been a particular focus for Arsenal’s recent enquiries and, while there has been interest in Edinson Cavani, Adrien Rabiot and Marco Verratti, they have received little encouragement.
"Wenger feels no need to make any panic buys to a team that finished so strongly last season and, while some fans might disagree, he is happy that Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sánchez and Theo Walcott do provide enough options in the centre-forward position to challenge for the major trophies."
